I just got finished with a 6 man $5 S&G NL, which I hadn't played in awhile, and I swear it was deja vu. Over valued TP, calling large allins preflop with basically anything, after being put in w/basically anything. And it was everyone. One hand limp on the button w/66 after 2 limpers, SB and BB call. Flop comes Qh,6s,3s. BB goes allin, CO calls, I call. Figure there must be a flush draw w/a Q. BB has K10off, CO has QJ off and they're both basically drawing dead. Turn 3c for the FH and I take it down. From this point on, I swear I had to do nothing to win. It was just strange though how bad the play was. Seems like they were more afraid of min raises than standard raises, would overbet the pot on missed flops and made the most senseless calls. Odd. Rolling Eyes

Sites that are accepting US players still are going to get the influx of fish, it's unavoidable, though annoying.

I learned a long time ago that if you want to play an "actual" game, you have to play $25 and up sit n go's. The majority of fish stay below that usually. And when they play higher than that they get owned in the first 5 minutes.

wow your upset with loose idiotic play??? hmm ok so what limits do you play and whats screen name!

I came here from party and always heard how tight it is here. Well I threw in 600$ for the dp bonus and and started at the .25-.50 nl tables (50 nl) I have played about 7000 hands and I am half a little over way to hopping in the 100nl game. I know this level is always easy to beat especially for some one used to play higher but I have to say there are as many complete mindless nit's here as party ever had. Oh yea and I am playing 4-5 tables naked with no poker office. Sadly it looks like they won't be comming the ft version for another 2-4 weeks ughh!

Well - I'm a party poker refugee who came to FT a few weeks ago. I immediately saw that the quality of play on FT was much higher than on Party and adjusted my style of play accordingly. I play low SNG's and tournaments but rarely cash games. However, I still see a lot of folks overplaying hands like AK and mid pockets.

I started here with a $200 BR, built it quickly to over $1K, then hit a very bad streak that still hasn't ended. It has me messed up, playing tentatively and very poorly at times. My current challenge is getting my head straight again.

I have a very intermediate level of expertise but am learning constantly and hope to be playing well enough to win consistently soon. I've come to greatly appreciate features of FT that party lacks like the forums, the pro chat, etc.

Happy pokering all.

Might explain a lot. I've been hearing for ages how great the play is here. After finally cashing out my other sites for various reasons I signed on here. (I'm not US based so the timing is just a coincidence.) Been playing some S&Gs in various formats $20 and down. My experience is that they play very much like Party always has - ie: AWFUL standard. You might think thats a good thing but with the fast levels in the S&G's here its tough to wait for really good spots to swoop. Play tight and you just get left behind.

I stopped playing at Party a long time ago for exactly those reasons. Found I couldn't beat the games where more or less everybody calls any bet except if you go HUGE - the fish seem to respect that. Rubbish risk/reward ratio though.

Also on cash games. I play a lot of stud and have NEVER had my hands called all the way so often (and been sucked out quite so much!). I also seem to be having a really cold run of cards since I've been here but thats besides the point. Also noticing a lot of ya-boo abuse in the chat (idiot **** about being "sucked out" at another player in regular Stud after he threw in a couple of raises on just a single pair and gets outdrawn and the like) which is just annoying (though not surprizing). Chat feature is now permanently off Smile

The new Party? Wouldn't argue against that statement at this point ....

Pity ....
