Four times today I've had my boats busted by quads (each time I got all-in too) Two of those times it was the highest possible boat on the table. I think only about 10% of my wraps hit anything, and that includes many of them where I was either 4 flushed or had two pair, or both, or the flop. Aside from stop playing, what can I do to stop this destruction?

Get unlucky. I had a run a while back exactly like yours, except that I was losing with quads. As long as you're getting it in with what's probably the best hand, there's nothing you can really do about it.

Problem is, I'm not getting it in with the best hand. Usually the street that makes my boat is the street that makes thier quads, any advice on how, if possible, to walk away from a boat?

Well, I guess then it'd have to come to the read of the person. I mean if this is a person that only re-raises with the absolute nuts, then maybe you can find a reason to fold. Also if this is a person that stuck around when the board pairs, and then the 3rd of that card comes up and the person starts firing hard at you, maybe you can get off of it then (but that doesn't seem to be happening in your case.)
However with the best possible full house, you're usually going to pay someone off if there's not 3 of a kind on the board. There are many times where a boat weaker then yours that would be played just as strongly as the quads (such as kq55x where you have Kings full and they'd have queens full.) |

I'd say that you just lose your money. I'll never lay down quads for fear that there is bigger quads out there. Same with a boat. The only way I'd think I was actually beat is if we played with the cards up. You might be able to get away from a smaller boat, but that'd be a rare occurance.

Well back to the salt mine to repair the damage, I bought in at the .25/.5 table last night for 20, worked it up to 175, and then donked off about 40 bucks before quitting. Sure did help when I put someone on tilt by hitting a broadway wrap (Q-J-10-A in my hand with the flop coming K-J-7 turn a 4 and river a 10) and when took anonther 40 bucks when he got up, sat on my left to try to mess with me, and kept reraising my nuts.
