I've never played it before, so I thought I'd give it a shot. This game is fun as hell. I've made decent money at it and even folded some hands that would've been monsters. Not that thats great, but it's teaching me alot about the game. Once I get the hang of all this, I think I'll be doing great. Fun game. I even got dealt 2224, that was kinda cool Smile

I had a similar hand like that once. I was in the BB with something like 3337 and I flopped another 3! The board paired eventually giving me a full house by the river and I picked up a nice pot. Yeah playing other games (and becoming good at them) other than holdem is something everyone should strive for especially if your goal is to play in the big game (ha!) someday. You'll need to be proficient in all forms of poker if you want to play against the like of Ivey, Brunson, Greenstein, etc. The things you learn in those games can help your holdem game as well. Lastly, if anything, it relieves the boredom of playing holdem only.

You do realize 2224 is an awful hand right? Trips is one of the most hated starting hands there are.

I kinda hate it when I get all of the same suit and they are somewhat connected too. Good enough to play but at the same time, the flush possibility is virtually nil. Quads are worse (obviously) although I've never seen that happen before.

No one here is anywhere near playing the big game, so if any of us ever make it, it will take a while, and I don't think Brunson will be around by then.

I know. I just thought it was funny that I got it so early into trying to play the game.

I've had quads three times before, twice in the same day. Trips are a crappy starting hand, and I always make a note when someone shows them down.

Saddest thing I ever saw, someone went all-in Preflop with quad aces, and won Rolling Eyes

Steamed, you are absolutely right. The players have no idea what they are doing, and they over value over pairs and 2 pairs. An easy way to make money if you somewhat know what you are doing.

Gho- I picked up one of those quad-suited hands and i actually ended up making a flush with it Smile

pot limit omaha is the easiest game iv played in a while. Only started because it was done at home game, but online, earning money is nice and easy. get in cheap - hit a hand then boost a pot. pots are much bigger than in holdem

I made a royal with my quad suited hand....damn it. I almost called just to see if it was possible to hit the flush.
