'No Limit Omaha?' I hear you cry. Yeah, its sounds hellish. But I've become quite enamoured with NL Omaha 8 or Better over the last couple of weeks.
The reason is because there are a substantial number of players who will put in their whole stack with no chance to scoop the pot.
For a fairly patient player, these games are a goldmine. I've been playing the smaller games for a bit of practice, and over the last few sessions, I have been all-in for my entire $200 stack with:
The nut flush and nut low against a counterfeited low and no high!
A six high straight and a wheel against an overpair of aces!
Quad tens against a busted low draw and the top full house!
A wrap low / straight draw against two pair (kings and fives) and an overpair of aces!
Basically there are two types of hands that people ridiculously overvalue - A-A with any two cards, and low-only draws. I've seen people push all-in for $190 into a $10 pot to 'protect' their overpair or one-way hand.
Anyway, I implore you guys to try it, it might be the most profitable day of poker you ever have. |

| I once tried playing NL omaha 8 for play money when I was trying to learn the game but everyone kept pushing all in pre-flop. I realized I was never going to learn that way since it is a flop game and without the flop your hand is worthless. Do people play a lot of all in pots before the flop for real money? |

| People like to limp in to see flops at the lower level, but rarely are there allins preflop. As you go up, the hand selection is a little more refined. |
