First, yes, I realize this is play money - the only site I have money on is Absolute until I manage to get top 18 in one of the $40 Freerolls on here.

Do we have to have these play money hands even discussed?

Having that said, you're not going to fold the nuts there, had to go in there and pray another spade doesn't come off. Unofortunately it did.

I'm no expert, but I know the things people generally comment on when remarking about various hands...

1. You called 150 with QJo. Yes, you hit the miracle flop where you had the nuts, (until the river even), but calling a raise with that hand in that position just screams 'play money'.

2. Even though you had the best hand possible, there were two spades on the board and a lot of other people in the pot. If you had been playing in a real tourney or at a money table, I think your raise (or even just a hard push) would have had the effect of winning you the hand right then. (Unless, perhaps you were up against a hardheaded person with trips or an Ace-high spade draw.)

People just don't play rationally when there's nothing at stake, so play money isn't really an indicator of much. It's also very difficult to guage a play/hand in play money...so I wouldn't expect much here.

True.

I wouldn't even have bothered entering except for the off chance that I got seated w/Steve Brecher. I've been focusing more on building my BR with fixed limit games on Absolute.

The only tourneys I've been entering on here as of late are the $40 and WSOP Freerolls (these just for practice) - the last $40 I was in ended the exact same way (though I had a set of 8's and lost to runner runner clubs)
