So im playing a sit and go on Full Tilt...I check my hand on the button expecting to see the hand of the player in earlier position. Turns out the program showed my hand and the other player was able to muck his hand. What's up with that? As the dealer, doesn't the other players show their hands first if i don't place a bet on the river?!?

Someone please advise...

Players do not show at a showdown in the same order as the betting went. The player who shows first is the player who was the last bettor in the hand. So if you raised preflop and he called, and then it got checked all the way, you would be the first to show, and if you had the best hand, he could then "muck" his hand. All of this however, is null and void because in a showdown, ALL PLAYERS MUST SHOW THEIR CARDS. Simply click the Last Hand option at the top left of your window, and the cards of players that lost in a showdown will be visible, whether they mucked them or not.

Ok, thanks for the info but that is not the way I know poker. Showing hands should be in order of the betting and players should have the right to muck losing cards at show down. Am I wrong?

last aggressor shows first, or whomever was called. I think.

Yes, you're wrong.

All hands that go to showdown must be shown if requested. That's why you can see them in the hand histories.

And the player who made the most recent bet shows first, followed clockwise by the rest of the players in the showdown.

Im going to be a little stubborn on this topic. If im wrong, then why is it that when I was watching a WPT broadcast last night, I saw the showdown the way I've been describing?

When there is a showdown anyone can see anyones hands. They must request to do so in a live game or tournament though. Most people don't bother in a showdown that was checked down. Online they just put in in the hand history, so anyone that wants to see can. This is only when there is a showdown though.

Like everyone said many times, you can see anyone's hand in a showdown that called down to the river! If it's me and 4 others, and they all muck to my hand, I can say "Hey you, you, you and you show me your cards please. They have no choice but to show the hands because that is proper poker etiquette and the rules.

You are entitled to see the cards of any players in a showdown.

I didn't know how to check back when playing online. It is nice to win a hand, but even nicer to know what the other guy(s) had....

Well, it's actually really bad etiquette to request to see the cards in a live game, but it is legal.
