I played a double stack tourney the other day relatively low buy in, and found myself with half the average chips and was looking for a double up. I got AK in late position on a short handed table and made a 3x bb raise, a guy re-raised so I pushed all in as i thought now was the chance for a double up. The guy called and turned over K 10 off suit, so i had him dominated. However the flop and turn both brought a ten and i was drawing dead on the river. In the chatbox i said he made a bad call, and the rest of the table criticised my all in move. Just wondered what anyone else thought of the move?

Seems ok. Possibly you were short enough that you just should of pushed preflop. You didn't post any details besides that you were half the average so I'm just going to assume you were under 10 big blinds.
If so, he was committed after he reraised you and will call the push all day. That's why you see suckouts a lot when you're shortstacked. |

Honestly, I like the way you played the hand. You raised and got him pot committed before pushing all in. If you had shoved sooner, he might have folded. Yes, you would have won, but you had a hand that you needed to get paid with. Your play should have accomplished that.
Fate dealt you a bad one this time, but I would have played it the same way. |

| it's hard to tell because you left out tons of important details: stack sizes, blind levels... if you want serious comments just post the hand history. chances are it was good though, AK isn't a hand you should be folding preflop very often. |
