PartyPoker must have the ugliest and worst client out there. I totally understand why they need to advertise (TV, banners everywhere etc.) so much to get people to play there. If they didn't I can't see any reason why anyone would wanna play there. And no I'm not mad at them for any reason like losing money or anything, I just find it funny that they get so many customers. I guess the advertisers have done a very good job. A list of pros/cons at PartyPoker (don't hesitate to argue with me, I might have missed things):

pros
-----
lots of fish

cons
-----
* Ugly client - lots of colors in a ugly mix and nothing to modify
* Chat/log window 3 rows high....scrolling all the time to read anything
* Chat/log window doesn't show what happends in the hand, who bets/calls etc
* Smallest SnG with 10% rake is $10+1! (I guess the can do that just because they have so many customers)
* Same sound for call and bet/raise and no sounds for check and fold
* No option for having sounds on even when window is out of focus, I wanna be able to check my e-mail while playing and still hear the sounds of the game.
* Cards show up too fast, especially during showdowns. No excitement. They just wanna earn cash as fast as possible.

Go Full Tilt Poker!

I'll tell you why. Deep down inside you really love those commercials. You probably set your tivo just to record those so you can watch them over and over again. Come karaoke night, you know you'll be up on stage belting out that song. You'll being singing your kids to sleep with that song. Before you know it, you will find yourself sinking to all new low, and actually playing on Party Poker. Shocked

Well, fish to me are worth far far more than a good looking background. Yes, party is ugly, but who cares? Their tournaments are awful - complete crapshoots with a very high vigourish to boot. However, their games are great, very beatable, and make me loads of money. As for the chat not showing what happened in the hand, you can change that using the dealer silent, etc options.

i agree with jaconda... the amount of fish on PP outweighs all the bad stuff (i agree that the site sucks too) by a lot! the main point of playing is to make a profit, not to be visually entertained... the fish on the site will certainly allow you to make a large profit if you play right, so i really don't care about how the client is crappy...

btw,

Alright...I do love the one with the security guard/cop playing with his dog...that's pretty cool...and next to My Sharona, that is probably THE catchiest song of all time. I'm thinking about making a remix of it...
