As suggested by Bobby Huff, I would like to see this variation of hold'em tried out. It would be Pot-Limit pre-flop and NL post-flop which is why I refer to it as Pot-Limit Pre-flop Hold'em or PLPH (leave out the F).
According to Huff, he would like to see this variation because, "...what hurts NL, even in deep-stack cash games, is the big reraise before the flop. You get a shutout." He goes on and describes how this variation of poker would be more beneficial to a skilled player.
What do you guys think? |

I disagree with it being beneficial to a skilled player. Surely if people are betting more than the pot PF, a skilled player can take advantage of it?
I wouldn't like this because sometimes, if you have a huge hand in PL you can 3-4 bet the pot and be left with a small amount of chips behind you for the flop that are almost certainly going in anyway - in these cases I'd rather just get it AI PF for that extra little bit of FE.
I'm voting no on this one.
If anything, I'd probably rather play NL preflop and PL post-flop, but with the explanation give I don't see why these people don't just play PLHE. |

| The Mansion Poker Dome speed poker tourneys were this format. It was interesting. Might also cut down on the short stackers. |
