I'm not going to look for the specific HH because the situation and action are so simplistic.
Anyway, the effective stacks are 100bb and I pot it UTG with JJ. It folds around to the BB, who 3 bet shoves all in. The big blinds stats at the time where about 24/17/3 over about 50 hands. His 3 bet% was about 15% at the time too, which is higher than normal, but it was over such a small sample. And I had never seen him 3 bet shove before. I had not noticed him in any interesting hands throughout the session.
So my questions are:
1.) Are you calling here?
2.) What is your calling range? |

| I have a feeling you're ahead, but I would still fold. I think he has something like 77. Although of course he could be doing that with Aces, as well. I really don't know. |

Yep.
I'd probably call that. I would put his range around 88+,AQ+. Maybe even lower PPs. I think he does this more with AQ/AK hands and weaker PPs.
How have his 3-betting hands been going for him? Has he seen a flop and had to give them all up? Have people just been folding to him? |

| If the player is this bad that they're making three bet shoves like this I don't see why we call here. It's been AA or KK every time I've called. |

| Fold. You've invested so little and your stats on him are over too small of a sample to sway this decision. Even if they were over a larger sample his shove is still weird. This isn't just a 3bet. I think he's probably on QQ+, AK here more often than not. In this spot with these stats and never having seen him just 3bet shove like this before I probably only call with KK+. If I've seen him do this before even if his hand wasn't shown down I open that calling range accordingly. |

Let me add to my first reply:
If I've seen him getting 4-bet and folding, or getting to the flop and folding, then I call this, because it smells much more like a "I don't want to have to play this post-flop/I don't want to have to fold this" shove, which doesn't tend to be AA, and usually not KK, which makes his range much more appealing.
If I've seen him taking down the pots PF, I probably fold, because it tends to mean he wants a call (i.e. he's doing something differently from what used to get folds).
FWIW, although in the first case I do think a call is +EV, I doubt it is hugely so. In other word, I think a fold here isn't that bad (and will certainly lessen variance). |
