The strategy I posted was extremely tentative. Its hard to explain exactly my strategy without actually showing you the hands. I think this will work for low buyins tho. I guess my major point would be to spot the donks as early as I can and play like a donk when your up against them. Obv wait for your monster and make sure you get your chips in against them. Its amazing how many times they call. Also widen your range against them. Alot of times I called their all ins with garbage like A10 suited or AJ. Of course the donk has Q10 or KJ and your away. If you get donked then so be it. Id rather take the chance. But as I said, be patient. If the hand doesnt come dont stress. You can easily come back from being last from 20 people and win with simple small stack push/fold strategy. Ive seen it numerous times. GL |

With a lesser BR to work with, I had no pre-set structure in my experiment. Over the last few weeks I went 6 for 9 in the $8 token 18 person SNGs. (should have been better, but was having a few "sprinkles" on at least 2 of these)
I spent my first one today on the same 45 person $24+$2 as you did and placed 3rd for $172. Thats cool , and I have 5 tokens left.
I'll now go back to the token tourneys and try to get a couple more before I make my 2nd run. Or maybe mix them both. Like I said, no structure here. I guess this is more of a brag post.
I'll update here with hopefully good news. |

LBS, I really thought this thread was dead, thats why I took the liberty to "hijack it", and simply ressurect it because it is similar to what I have done since I read your OP. I hope no toes have been stepped on.
I'll start a new thread if anyone is interested. The only reason is that I want to share in the info, because I really am suprised with the success I've had at the token part of the "experiment". |

Dammit, someone hit the "doomswich" on me. I ended up going 8 for 15 on the $26 tokens (no other cash, which is fin by me). Last 4 attemps were nada.
Then I tried anouther 24+2 45 person, and bubbled at 7.
That, on top of getting with crap on every other sng i've done since saturday. ...just frustrating.
Still got 6 tokens. Looking for a good run again soon.
I still believe this is a great stradegy to build a BR, I have a profit already,just have to follow it through for a bigger one. |
