That's it... I think i'm an average 6 SNG player but i suck in big tournaments.. i haven't won one in 60 45SNGs *sigh*... so how big do you score?

For some reason I do very well at these.

Out of 47 $24+2 45-man tourneys, I've won $2721 for a profit of $1499. So my ROI is 1499/1222 = 122.67%

Some reason like 'playing good poker' i guess... 123% ROI confirmes my Donkiness. Hats off.

What's your secret?

By the way, great post on 45 SNGs.

I play very aggressively. I'm not sure what else there is, but that's a big one. I know a lot of people play very tight, and they end up limping into the final table. They probably cash more than I do, but I have a huge number of 1sts, which makes my ROI way better than theirs (it helps that my HU skills are better than average IMHO).

Just a word of caution: be careful about that post. I've since tweaked some things for the better IMHO. I play a bit too donkishly in that game. But you can see from the post that I am very aggressive and try to take advantage of what I perceive to be weakness. That's important.

I, too, am what I'd consider successful at 45 mans, with a ROI of 69% over 58 games at the $10 level and an ROI of 236% at the $24 level (very small sample size though) for an overall ROI of 107%.

I play aggressively for the majority of the first few levels, it's quite easy to spot weakness and people surprisingly will put it all in the middle with moderate holdings. Some say that 45 man SNGs have too small of a field to employ LAG strategy, but it has worked quite well for me for the first few levels of play. I find it very important to try to get a good stack early and then tighten up a little bit, depending on your table obv. Once you do get to the FT, first try to take note who is trying to just squeeze ITM and take advantage of it. Once you do make the money, keep in mind that the difference between 5th and 6th is rather small, and play to win. ICM calculations are extremely useful if you're familiar with them.

Though i play within my bankroll, i think i'm too scared of being agressive, that's my problem. i look for strongness in every hand and fail to spot weakness.

Thank's for your replies.
