So, my prediction is that the presence of these turbos triples the amount of "rigged" posts.
I love the format. I don't play a ton of it, but 1) it seems beatable and 2) it's great for when you just have 20 minutes to play a round.
But, it's like the format was engineered from scratch to give out bad beats. Think about it: How could you possibly get the most bad beats into one game? That's right, get players shoving with sub-optimal hands, and make players feel desperate while also having them make their decisions pre-flop.
Then set up a format that gets them looking at a ton more of these hands than they ever would in a "normal" game of online poker.
I think when moving from once-or-twice a week brick and mortar games to playing online, people think "rigged" because they see more suck outs, when really they're just seeing a ton more hands, and a ton of weird situations.
Moving from "standard" online poker to the Super Turbo will easily give that incorrect perception to even online players. I've probably seen more sub-optimal all in shoves and calls in 4-5 hours of Super Turbo, than I have in the last four months of playing regular games. (Again, for good reason: that's the nature of success in the format.)
I love it. Expect much whining in the "Poker Stories" section. I've already macroed "So, how much did you lose?" |
