Blinds still 3 mins, but instead of starting with 1500 chips, you start with 300 chips. I see them at the $3, $7, and $14 levels. Probably more. I'm sure these will be entertaining to watch. At least there is a lower entry fee with these.

I feel like a jackass that I am actually playing one of these right now. Any strategy to this format you think? Besides sign up and hope for the best?

Took that one down that I was playing in. Fun fun fun. Sucked out with my K5o vs AQo midway through... a SB steal turned bad turned good! Woot!

Basically, use late game strategy. Use your position and pretty much always push/fold.

Yeah, there is some strategy, albeit somewhat limited, but I'm thinking these are actually pretty beatable, albeit in a high variance sort of way. I've been trying to hammer out my short-stacking skills and ICM stuff more lately and I imagine I'll play these from time to time to continue that.

Another thought I had with these, they build up FTPs faster than any other tourney or SNG. Could be handy for those who want to build some points for ironman on days where you don't have lots of time, or for those working to clear a bonus.

I think not only are these beatable, but because the strategy is so simplified one ought to be able to multitable quite a number of these at a time. So while variance might be higher than normal, the fact that you can play a good deal more at a time should balance that out, if not tip the scale to the side of less variance.

I'm going to try some experiments with these. I'm particularly curious how the higher stakes games play. If the $70+5 games are filled with people without a clue about shortstack strategy, I might start playing these a lot.
