What starting hand in Holdem do you hate the most and explain why.
For me, it's AK. I seem to always miss the flop with them and then I'm almost forced to lay them down when my opponent decides to make a well-sized pot bet.
They also stink as an all-in hand, since more than half of the time you're up against a pocket pair and you lose those races more often than not.
Tell me what your most hated starting hand is! |

I used to rely solely on starting hands.
Although hole cards still play a large part in deciding whether or not I enter a pot, I am constantly looking for opportunities, regardless of my holdings.
I'm more interested in assessing my opponent's capabilities, and how the flop and my subsequent actions will influence him.
There are times when I will fold pre-flop with AA, and other times when I will make a play with 72o.
To answer you poll though, I'll probably play JQo less than the others you listed. |

I don't even consider that a "starting hand". |

Interesting point, I have much difficulty with players who indeed seem to bet the same way against me, regardless of their holdings. They seem to target the player more than the cards, as you imply.
Probably still one of the leaks in my game (I'm being pushed out of the pot too easily...) |

| AQo cause it seems like whenever I get it, someone is nice enough to play AK and I won't hit, or someone will play AJ and hit. |

There are certain players that get a hard on by winning a pot with the 72o. Some are regulars on this forum. Some even play them every time they get em. Like some macho thing, or what ever.
Nothing is better in poker then bluffing someone off of a good "starting hand" with the 72o.
When you win a pot with the 72o it is customary to show them and type "HAMMER!!!!!" And laugh. |

I would love to hear the situation in which you fold AA Preflop ^_^ |

Tournament.
It looks like the bubble will pop in the next orbit.
I'm on the good side of the bubble, but just barely.
Two short stacks go all-in ahead of me, then are called by one or two huge stacks.
I'm small blind.
I don't even want to see my cards. I don't care what they are. I have enough to complete 2-3 orbits before I go Kamikaze.
I'll auto-fold that everytime. |

That seems like a pretty bad spot to fold AA. You need a way smaller stack or a way more extreme bubble than in any normal tournament to justify folding there imo, unless even the lowest payouts are life changing money or something. |

It happens though - if you miss it still becomes the same as any other hand that you miss with, just try c-bet and take it down and if you get called, you can give up or re-evaluate the turn.
You wont really be losing with AK more often then not. AK is near 50% to win against any other hand almost apart from AA/KK.
I chose the suited connector, IMO its the weakest of all the hands. You can use the 2's for set value, JJ is obviously a big pair PF that you can get away from if things get heavy and QJo is not something I really get terribley excited about. |

imo the worst starting hand must be the Jackson Five, J5o...
just such a disgusting hand i do get evrey 5 minutes.
And love the 72o for bluffing with it and making ppl tilt, and next hand finish them off with the nuts (situation does have to play out nice to get this, but it happend) |

IMO the only time you can fold AA is in token tournies. Normal tourns I am looking to go deep so to simply save me from bubbling is not good enough. Id be looking at a good chance to triple up there.
I have folded AA in token tourns. 18 and top 5 get token. Theres 6 and im first in chips. 3 all ins before me. I fold AA there. |

| TT. I always seem to misplay it terribly. I never know if I should raise with it, limp, fold to a raise. It gets me every time. |
