99. I usually overplay that hand, or play scared postflop.

I hate A2 or A3 in spots when I'm short enough that I know I have to push with them but there are plenty of people behind, one of which will usually call with a bigger ace or a pair (for SNGs and tourneys, obv).

I used to have alot of trouble with 88 and 99, but I started just playing alot more passively (like a smaller pair) when I'm in bad position and that seems to have helped, even if I'm not really playing them optimally at least I'm not grossly misplaying them as often now.

For me, it's AK. I seem to always miss the flop with them and then I'm almost forced to lay them down when my opponent decides to make a well-sized pot bet.

They also stink as an all-in hand, since more than half of the time you're up against a pocket pair and you lose those races more often than not. Mad

Tell me what your most hated starting hand is!

It happens though - if you miss it still becomes the same as any other hand that you miss with, just try c-bet and take it down and if you get called, you can give up or re-evaluate the turn.

You wont really be losing with AK more often then not. AK is near 50% to win against any other hand almost apart from AA/KK.

Yes, the strange thing is that I almost find AK easier to play out of position than in position... OOP, I make a c-bet, but what if you're in position and your opponent makes a pot bet? You will have to lay it down if you missed the flop (unless you have AKs and there is a flush draw). And that hurts with a "premium" hand.

Or you can bluff raise, and they will probably fold more than half the time.

personally, my least favorite hand is low pairs. They always get me in trouble calling short stacks. Also with low pairs 66 and lower in coinflips, It seems to happen so much that my pair gets counterfieted by a higher two pair on the board. i.e. i have 22 and the board is 44JJ8 and i lose to A3...

I HATE SMALL PAIRS LOL

My least favorite hands are

1. Pocket pairs (The higher the worse). Problem is you expect to win and you play like your going to win. Only problem is half the time it ends up costing you your entire chip stack or you win the blinds.

2. Anything with an Ace. Reason being that everyone at the table is chasing high cards or the Ace. So if 2 other people at the table have an ace I really have to question myself on

a. Is my kicker high enough
b. Do they have 2 pair?

Id much rather play cards like J-10 or 7-8 because when I hit, I KNOW im good and I can get a huge payoff from the guy with A-Q who hit top pair. Small pocket pairs are always nice for limping in or calling min raises, if you miss just dump them.

Mine.

Seems like the best starting hand is always the one the guy on my left starts with.
