I just did this, feel bad that it happened, but thought he was limping with Pocket pair and I love playing 78 when I can get in cheap and see a flop

Just gotta say that I love it when a seemingly bad play turns into an unbelievably good one. I also like the idea of playing a hand most people wouldn't touch -- I personally like playing a 7-9 when possible, and I actually win with that hand about 90% of the time (often by bluffing, but I still get the chips).
However, your read wasn't really that bad. Better to have your opponent on a better hand than he really has than to think he has nothing and find out he's got pocket aces or something. |
