Which river play do you like better? No one has shown any interest in betting. It's very likely we have the best hand. Do we expect to be called by worse hands often or is check/calling better to give our opponents a chance to bluff?

It's worth a Value Bet there. If you're raised, you should probably fold.
If you bet on the turn when you hit the Ace, you might have gotten more information. A 9 or a 4 might have called you, thinking you were betting to take down the pot because a scare card hit. Then if they raised your value bet on the river, you would definitely know you were rivered. |

| Bet turn, bet river. People call with any pair and probably K-high as well a decent amount of the time once you check turn, so I definitely think it's a bet as played as well despite the semi-ugly river card. |

Well you have to bet the river. It's the turn that confuses me slightly. Are you checking cos you're waiting to c/r with the best hand? Or trying to keep the pot small. (I hate the c/r as you won't get called by hands you beat). Nobody has shown strength preflop so you're usually ahead there with the ace.
So my preferred line is bet turn, bet river. But if you really want to be tricky, you can check-call someone on the turn to let them bluff, then donk the river for value. |

| Sorry I left out key info. I usually post hands while I'm playing so I'm only half paying attention. The reason I checked the turn was because the table had been very aggressive particularly alvarb and I really thought he would bet the turn with anything. I was going to call and bet river in an attempt to get an extra bet but it backfired. Considering that the players are aggressive stabbing at pots a lot I then thought since they checked the turn they probably don't have much of anything and I doubt they call a river bet. I'm not worried about the 9 at all. A 9 would have definitely bet flop or turn. So then I started to think is leading the river best when I really doubt they call. Maybe checking is best because they still may finally decide to bluff. |
