Mimmo...the math really isn't so difficult. Don't be afraid of it as it is simple division and multiplication for the most part. Start out with calculating pot odds...for example:
(This is verbatum from Phil Gordon's, "Little Green Book".
My opponent and I each have $2500 in chips. There is already $5000 in the pot when the turn card arrives. My opponent goes all-in, creating a $7500 pot. Should I call?
First, I need to calculate the pot odds, or the amount of money I stand to win relative to the amount of money I'll have to put at risk. Pot odds are actually described as a ratio, or x to one. Pot odds = (Total pot / amount I'm asked to call) to 1. Or in this example: ($7500/$2500) = 3 to 1
That's all I'm gonna type out, go check out the book as it is an easy way to understand all of this. If you really want to better your game this is something you should understand. |
