Hi everybody, i ve been playing poker at Full Tilt for about 5 months started off with play money then when i felt confident enough that i knew how to play i decided to start off with a $50 BR. I ve been playing $1 sit and go's in which i ve started to do quite well pretty much got myself even after beening nearly down to zero(including bonus's). Am not looking for a new profession, i enjoy playing even having a little laugh at bad beats! But am ready to test myself at higher stake games, how do u guys think i should go about this? Is there any good books you would recommend? As i said before i play for fun but id like to become a better player and be able to hold my own in higher stake games where you do need to know what your doing.
Thanks for reading. Tom |

Welcome Tom....
There is never enough knowledge, so Books would be in order or
even Videos are now available. I have read Daniel's and Phil's Books
and they were very helpful. Good Luck and I am sure others,
will throw in there 2 cents........ |

For tournaments:
Harrington on Hold'em
Kill Phil
Kill Everyone
The Full Tilt Poker Strategy Guide: Tournament Edition
In cash games:
No-Limit Hold'Em: A Complete Course
Professional No-Limit Hold'Em Volume I
No-Limit Hold'em:Theory and Practice
General Poker Theory:
Theory of Poker
Super System 2
I'd recommend starting with Theory of Poker for the basics on how to think about poker and move on to Harrington before expanding your game to include aspects from the other titles.
I've taken some aspect from all the poker books I've read, no matter how bad they may have been.
Good luck and Welcome. |

You talk about playing in the lower $1 games. The players playing the $1 games are only one stage higher than the freerolls. If you decide to play at higher money games, you will find the players are much better.
As for making your game better, there are lots of great books around now. read, read, read...
Good Luck and have Fun. |

i started by reading Theory of poker which was very helpful and Harringtons books are very good
also for live play i suggest Caros book of tells
I find it easy to understand the principals in the books but it is harder to actually utilize them well in the game so practice at the tables is a must to improve
good luck |
