| One problem i have with Full Tilt is the freerolls they offer. It is bad enough that the prize pool is only $40, but i can never get into one. About 2 whole minutes after they become registerable, they are full. On top of that only 900 people can register? Most other sites allow 2000 people to register, not to mention prize pools of $500-$2000. I know that at some sites you have to use points to register like Party, but look at Empire. Empire has 3-$200 and 2-$500 freerolls everyday which are totally free to enter. I like the promotions like the Jersey Days freerolls, but again, i cant ever enter one because they fill up within a couple of minutes. I would really like to see Full Tilt improve this aspect of their site. |

I like the fact that they limit the number of entrants into a free roll. It is hard enough to beat 900 players that go all-in every hand. If they didn't have a maximum, there would be over 3000 easy.
There are freerolls, and multi table tournaments that can be played with points. Getting into the tournaments that require points is fairly easy, they rarely fill up. They also have larger prize pools. |

| I can't even register. I don't see a place to click. I have been trying all afternoon to get into tournament 2495043. I don't even care about the prize money; I just want to try to practice once or twice in a tournament instead of at the regular tables. I have heard that at the regular tables in money games there are gangs of people who reveal their hands to each other using cell phones and instant messenger, and that it is safer to play for money in tournaments than at regular tables. So I thought I'd practice once or twice in a freeroll tournament just to see if there is any difference I need to be aware of before playing a tournament for money, and I can't even get into a tournament. |

| There are, without a doubt, some people that collude like that, using phones or IM systems. However, it's really not that big a danger. It takes very good players to truly use this to give themselves a significant edge, and such players are usually not down at the small stakes. I wouldn't worry about it too much. |

Registration for the $40 freerolls is one hour prior to the start time for the freeroll. They fill up in less than two minutes so you need to be ready at the right time to register. Have the tournament window open and ready, and just wait for the register button to appear.
And if you are interested in the Jersey days freerolls, their registration opens 30 minutes prior to the start time. |

Although I agree that having to be "poised on the register button" in order to get into a tournament is a hassle, I have to admit that I prefer Full Tilt's procedure to that of Party Poker, where you can register days in advance for some tournaments. Its hard enough to get registrants to show up at the tournament when they only have to wait an hour, can you imagine how many "empty chairs" there would be if people could register several hours in advance?
And the idea of limiting the field to 900 or 1000 in a freeroll is also a good one, as who wants to have to defeat 2 or 3 thousand people just to win a few bucks?
Lastly, it would indeed be nice if there was a tournament that paid more than $40, but how quick do you think you'd have to be in order to get registered in one? Chances are anyone who is still using dial-up (like me, because other options are not available where I live) wouldn't have a chance at all. |

I use dial-up sometimes and it can be done. From what I see it goes continuous to about 600 or 700 and then it trickles down. Also, if I open the window to register as the rush comes on I'm probably too late as it's loading.
As for "empty chairs" I would like to see it like UB where if you're not there within 5 minutes they kick you off the tourney. Maybe not 5 minutes for us Tilters, I like 30 mins to give time for dialup users to show up. It takes a while to blind off the sitters. |
