Supfool asked for an update. Well I've started brilliantly, hitting flops and getting the money in good.
Then this happened (winning this hand would put me into a comfy chip lead):
Full Tilt Poker Game #6480195191: $14,000 Guarantee (48579535), Table 39 - 20/40 - No Limit Hold'em - 13:35:15 ET - 2008/05/19
skeeter1114 (Observer): sweet, i'm chip leader at a super satellite to 750K, let's see how I can blow this
Seat 1: WIZZARD62 (1,682)
Seat 2: carrott10 (3,641)
Seat 3: LostOstrich (7,720)
Seat 4: Plotinus (2,540)
Seat 5: zapafly (3,846)
Seat 6: Geldi28 (1,346)
Geldi28 posts the small blind of 20
WIZZARD62 posts the big blind of 40
The button is in seat #5
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to LostOstrich [Js Th]
carrott10 has 15 seconds left to act
zapafly: lol
carrott10 folds
LostOstrich raises to 100
Plotinus folds
zapafly calls 100
Geldi28 folds
WIZZARD62 folds
*** FLOP *** [Tc 2h Jc]
LostOstrich bets 180
skeeter1114 (Observer): it's the $2 36 man one, so I'm sure I'll get donked out somehow
zapafly raises to 360
LostOstrich has 15 seconds left to act
LostOstrich raises to 1,360
zapafly raises to 3,746, and is all in
LostOstrich calls 2,386
zapafly shows [As Ad]
LostOstrich shows [Js Th]
*** TURN *** [Tc 2h Jc] [4s]
*** RIVER *** [Tc 2h Jc 4s] [2s]
zapafly shows two pair, Aces and Twos
LostOstrich shows two pair, Jacks and Tens
zapafly wins the pot (7,752) with two pair, Aces and Twos |

..And after that, I fell to pieces in a frenzy of bad timing, bad play and (some) bad luck.
Managed to go from 2nd in chips at the half-hour mark, to out before the first break.
I run bad.
Thanks for supporting me, guys. I'll be back! |

maybe i do sir, if i read it correctly, he raised with 10 j offsuit, early in a tournament with a nice chip stack, got called by a premium hand and lost......
hmm, run bad? lol now hmm i must have misread the hand......your right sir......
too funny like i said, i enjoy reading these hands every night in the forum how a hand that is a 70% dog usually loses and then the forumer whines lol
thanks again guys for the nightly laugh
keep em posting! |

OK so preflop he was down about 80/20. The player with AA didn't reraise and LO was able to hit a nice flop. At that point he was ahead about 70/30 and then on the turn he was ahead around 80/20. If he hadn't hit the flop like he did it would've been very easy to get away from. So, what you are saying is that because the other play had a "premium hand" preflop, well he should've won? Even though there are five other cards that are used in the hand and I thought there was more to the game then just your two cards.
Nice try californiachamp BTW, how are those lessons going that you offered? Your class is probably so full you don't even know what to do |
