I am currently playing in a weekly texas holdem no limit tournament. There are about 30 players, starting chips 1500, blinds start at 25/50 and go up every 10 min so it usually takes 2 hours. I do really well in a slower 5 hour tournament, but when it comes to this turbo tournament I cant even get to the final table. Any advice on stategy would be appreciated. |

Cheese,
Really, the biggest difference is that you have to evolve your game faster. Here is what I mean. On your turbo tournament, you are at about the same point at 30 minutes that you are at about an hour or an hour and half in on the slower one. At an hour, you are at about the 2.5 to 3 hour mark. Assuming that you have the success it looks like you do in the slower tournament, you just have to adjust to that timing.
My guess is that you are blinding out because you are not making your adjustments. Remember that the agressiveness of your play should be guided by the value of the blinds and antes. If the blinds are growing twice as fast and your play is not keeping up with the blind structure, you will never get deep into the tournament. |
