I live in the UK and attempted to lodge funds in my FTP account at the weekend.
I attempted to lodge £75 GBP and noticed that the dollar rate was extremely low .. everyone with more than one brain cell knows the dollar has ben taking a pasting on the forex for a while now - and previous recent transactions were giving a rate of almost 2:1 - so a £75 GBP would have equated to almost $150, give or take a few dollars.
In this case it was a mere $116.25
This did not look right, so I check xe.com's exchange rate calculator just to be sure the dollar hadn't recently taken an amazing uturn, and it confirmed that it had not.
So I logged out, cleared cookies, done a whole load of stuff and tried, tried and retried .. still the same result -- $116.25
A family member, who has an identical card, from the same bank, tried their account on another pc .. the exchange rate was just over $147 for the same £75 GBP .
How on earth can a difference of over $30 be accounted for? Was it somethign to do with my FTP account or what ... |
