|
|
Did I get ripped today? Or have I never really known which Full House beats the other? I've always been told that the higher set of Trips wins the hand. The situation I faced today was:
My hand
A-A-A-2-2
vs.
His Hand
A-A-10-10-10
Doesn't the higher "set" (three of a kind) in a full house determine the winner?!! |

There's even an example of this given on Wikipedia here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_poker_hands#Full_house
The situation there even states that:
10-10-10-4-4 defeats 9-9-9-A-A because the set of 10's are higher than the set of 9's.
So what gives? Why did I lose w/ A-A-A-2-2 vs A-A-10-10-10??? |

Because it's Omaha and you have to use exactly 2 of your hole cards and
exactly three board cards.
I'm going to guess that the board was:
A A T x x
You held A 2 2 x
Your opponent held T T x x
You can't play your ace and your pocket pair of twos for a full house. He can play his pocket pair of tens plus the ten on the board, plus the two aces on the board for a full house, tens full. |

LMAO.....
If you post the hand history we can tell you. If it was in Holdem then yes you are right and you got ripped off. Its the same in Omaha but as boomer said, you can only use TWO whole cards even though you have 4 staring you in your face. Stew |

I bet my bankroll it was the fact that you "used" more than 2 hole cards. All you can use are 2!
Full Houses- Higher set of 3 always wins...then if the set of three are equal, you go to the set of 2. A simple formula really. So is the 2 hole cards formula...but even I screw that up sometimes! |
