For those of you that are looking to make enough points to purchase items in the FTP store be aware.....
Lets say that your goal is to get enough points to get a 500 piece poker chip set for 14,700 points. How many hours and how much money would it cost you to get to that point? Chances are if you are playing .25/.50 tables for 2 hours a day it would take you about 6-8 months. That is as long as you don't keep re-loading your account with funds.
Here is a much easier way to go about this. Simply go to websites such as Ebay and you can easily get the same set for around $40 and have it within a few days. That goes for pretty much anything that is available in the FTP store. Why waste your time and money when it will take you only a fraction of the money you would spend on FTP to get the exact same thing and at a much lower cost. |

| Moved from "Multi-table tournaments" because it's feedback about the site and has nothing to do with tournament play. |

Why are you concerned with re-loading your account numerous times? The FT Points are just extras, they aren't the ultimate goal here.
It seems to me that you're more concerned with earning points, rather than winning money. I find it amuzing that you say, "why waste your time.....blah, blah, blah....". If you feel that playing online poker is a waste of your time, then quit playing and get your chip set on ebay as you suggest.
If you're losing money and constantly re-loading just to get points, then you going about it all wrong. |

I agree with cubbies760 here. points are extra. i play to win more money and cause poker is fun to play. (although I am working to get a fulltilt hat to wear at the wsop this year. pokerstars sent me a t shirt alrady. gonna wear both lol) |

haha lately ive been playing just to get the laptop and I will be able to purchase it come april 1st.
but as for the OP, your argument is silly as mentioned in every post prior to mine. and for what its worth, your estimates are pretty far off as I picked up 15k FTP points at nl 50 in about 2 weeks. even though I do tend to 16 table for a gross amount of time per day, 6-8 months is just a bit of an stretch. |

| Whilst I think the OP may have his priorities wrong, points should NOT be extra. Live casinos give comps to players for regular play, so why aren't online casinos expected to do the same? The full tilt store is a complete joke in terms of "prices", but I don't think it's too high on their list of priorities. Until they sort themselves out, go to stars, their points system kicks *** if you don't have rakeback. |

This is the thing that makes any straight up comparison of the stores on stars/FTP kinda pointless. FTP has RB, stars doesn't. While I think the FTP store could do a lot of things better, I still like the bonus of being able to buy a 22" monitor for a bit over $100. Oh, and comps are extras in live casinos too. They're not required to give them out, they just do so because it makes them money. |

Most casinos have players cards now. You sign in with your card when you sit down at the table and sign out when you leave.
In the poker rooms you get around $1 (differs from casino to casino) per hour of play that can be used in the restaurants. |

I normally earn about 6k a month in points playing .25/.50nl 4 tabling. Thats said, I have done it both ways. I got my Chip set for $60 shipped on Ebay, and my custom baseball jersey for $50 shipped there as well. I also have 2 coffee mugs, and many shirts and hats from the FT store. I am currently saving for the Napa leather coat.
I also recieve rakeback. When I purchase something it really hurts my rakeback, but I make money here, so the rakeback is just a bonus. I would like to see a little more value from my points as well if I am to be penalized so much from them. Example: Date Revenue Rakeback
Half zip shirt 2008-03-09 $-61.21 $-16.53
Tumbler coffee mug 2008-03-08 $-47.77 $-12.9
Even though I "paid " with my points for these this month, I will "pay" again from rakeback. I think I will be more selective in what I use my points for from now on. The everyday things I will most likely just pickup online rather than pay twice.
I would love to hear any thoughts on this... |

The RB deduction sucks- but better than no RB at all. I've bought some crap from the store- and now save my points for stuff that is "worth it" The electronics can be sold on ebay for a decent return, even after taking the RB hit. It's like an additional bonus. |
