This was a while back, but I remember thinking that after this hand, I can never complain about a bad beat....

I just bought in to a $1-2 NL game for $200 and waited for the blind to come around to me. I posted the big blind and I stare down at pocket sixes. One person from middle position made a pot sized raise, and there was one late position caller and I called. The flop comes 4-6-10 rainbow. I thought what a great way to start this session! So, I checked, and the initial raiser bet (less than pot amount but the amount escapes me). The late position called again as did I. The turn was a face card and so I checked again, the initial raiser checked too, and the late position caller bet about half the pot which at this point was approx $50. I figured the middle position guy really didn't have anything (he was probably firing out a bet on the flop to see if he could steal it there and since we both called, just checked the turn). I figured this would be a good time to pop so I raised the minimum amount. The middle position folded and then a strange thing happened. The late position guy reraised me. So, thinking he caught two pair, I wanted to make sure that if he has top 2, he's gonna pay to catch. So I pushed all in and he calls immediately... to show pocket 10s. I was like ****! But based on the subject, I'm sure you could tell.... a 6 hit on the river to give me 4 of a kind!

The guy that I gave this bad beat too took it very well which tells me that he's probably a pretty good player. So now, I try to remember that for every "bad beat" that I feel that I get, I probably did the same to someone else.

No, the dealer rigged it in your favor. He was palming your case 6 to make the beat really bad for the other guy and collect more money for the house, even though the full rake was already taken prior to this point.

Shame on you for your understanding of the game.

*Standing O for your humility towards the game*
