|

I'm not kidding!
From Cardplayer.com:
[Harrahs] added a $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E event to the 2006 WSOP, which is the first time an event with a buy-in of more than $10,000 will take place at the WSOP. A date hasn’t been set yet. The 2006 WSOP will be made up of 45 poker tournaments that take place between June 25 and Aug. 10 at the Rio in Las Vegas.
H.O.R.S.E is considered one of the toughest tournament games because players take turns playing five different kinds of poker during the event: Hold'em, Omaha, razz, stud, and stud 8-or-better
I just need to save up $47,000 more and I'm there.
Would anyone like to see Full Tilt run satellites for the event? |

If they actually do this it will become the most coveted bracelet of them all. Basically, the WSOP will have a new main event.
Doyle was right! |

This WILL be the new main event, if not in the eyes of ESPN and the casual viewer, then certainly in the eyes of the pros and the more knowledgeable amateurs.
Let's get the satellites rolling, Full Tilt, it's going to take a while to work from $6 + 1 to a $50K buy in. |

| Finally. It will be a real change from all of the new poker(hold'em) players. I'm curious who will dominate the pack. I would think a lesser known pro will be propelled to the forfront because of their all around game. It will hopefully bring a greater respect for the other games. |

Here's my final table prediction:
Ted Forrest
Erik Seidel
Jennifer Harman
Chau Giang
Doyle Brunson
Howard Lederer
...amongst two others. Maybe Robert Williamson III. I like Chau Giang or Ted Forrest to win. |

I would now like for Harrahs to give me a little kick back for having this idea back in November. (see my post HORSE or SHOE at the WSOP). I love this idea!!! A true poker champ can now be crowned!
But you can still call the Main Event the main event...just call this one the "World Championship" or something of the like.
Peace out!

the worldseriesofpoker.com webpage has it comfirmed.
I seen it this afternoon and because am in the final 5 of a $38 satellite for the $216 event. It's an interesting and cool game that the industry is going to see catch on. |

Thats a real shame. I suspect its for television's benefit, not for the benefit of the players. |

Probably a little of both. It is of course for televisions benefit, because the majority of people like to watch no limit holdem, but also a little in determining the best OVERALL player, as no limit holdem is poker, and the best overall player should know all forms of poker. Plus, if we are lucky, they wont just show the final table on TV, since it is a three day event. |

Ok I hope I am wrong here.
I would like to see ESPN give this at least 3hrs or more coverage of this event. What I am hearing they may not cover this because the main event is the next day. ESPN want the crew to sleep all day and be ready for long days ahead.
Has anyone here this also??? |
