Am I just being results oriented, or could/should I have lost less money? I have a feeling there is a standard line here, but I don't know what it is.

LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter
BTN: $4.80

Hero (UTG): $21
UTG+1: $18.15
MP: $33.10
CO: $9.60
Pre-Flop: A Q dealt to Hero (UTG)
3 folds, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, MP calls, CO folds
Flop: ($1.25) 7 5 A (2 Players)
MP bets, Hero raises, MP calls
Turn: ($2.25) J (2 Players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP raises, Hero calls

Results: $5.25 Pot ($0.25 Rake)
Hero mucked A Q (a pair of Aces) and LOST (-$2.50 NET)

So the standard line is to bet the turn when the 3rd spade hits?
C'mon R. Your standard line cost the player 2 big bets.
How bet check behind on the turn and call the river. |

| Yes, bet that turn. A flopped spade draw isn't a very big part of his range and we miss a ton of value from worse while giving free cards to single spades by checking behind. I'm not even a limit player and I can still say with complete confidence that this line is best vs. an unknown because it's so standard. And OP, escape full ring and switch to 6max while you still have the chance. It's more profitable and there's more action. |

Would that cause me to lose a value vs. worse aces, PPs, and random other can't-let-my-hand-goes? |

| You played the hand perfectly imo. And Craig checking that turn just because a spade hits is so weak. |

I'll try it out.
Right now I just play very tight and really aggressive when I have a hand. Basically, I emulate the way I saw ridic play early in the 3k he won (thanks ridic!). So far it has had spectacular results, but I know some of it must be variance. I've done a few silly things, but overall I'm up a lot. I think I've been making around $5/hr per table, and I mostly two- or three-table, depending on whether I have work to do. And that's a conservative estimate.
Oddly enough, I think I find FL players easier to read than NL players, which helps a lot. I also haven't had any bad downswings yet, though I'm sure they happen.
I'm going to play a bunch more over the next week or two, and then I think I'll give the 3k tourney a shot if I feel good about my limit skills. |

Yup ignore my strategy advice and keep betting a board that's three flushed, 7 handed, against a guy that's bet into you post flop and calls your raise after you raised pre flop, and makes the only potential draw that exists, with top pair second best kicker.
Well played. What do I know. |

| It's not 7 handed, it's a HU pot. We get called by all aces and probably most 7s and a lot of 5s as well, along with a ton of random 1-spade hands that somehow got to the turn, and we also get raised by a bunch of weird pair+spade hands or even just a spade that didn't want to fold the flop for 1 more bet. People don't like folding in limit, so why not give them a chance to call? They get to do what they like and we get to win money. |

I am confused.
Why is MP acting first after the flop?
How did it go 3 folds before you acted if you are under the gun? |

My guess is that the converter messed up and shifted the positions by three. MP=SB and CO=BB. |

| Or is this one of those reverse-psychology posts where OP has posted the villain's hand as their own in order to avoid bias? |
