Hand #1: Here is a situation where i have the button and a decent starting hand, but not a great one. UTG has limped, and in addition to the blinds, there is another player that has posted the BB and a dead SB. There is a lot of dead money in the pot now. Do you like my raise here?? What other range of hands would you raise with in position? The players involved are unknown. Would you make the same play against players you usually play with who know you are aggressive? Should i be concerned about the UTG limper?

Hand #2: Here is a situation where i am in the BB with trash. There is one limper and it folds to me, where i check to see the free flop. I hit top pair, bet, get raised, and then 3 bet. Do you like a 3-bet here? In my mind, there isn't a single hand that beats me except a 9 with a better kicker, which unfortunately crushes me. But if he has 2 overs, a mid pair 55-99, or Ax (where the x may or may not have paired), i am ahead. Would you consider 3-betting a worse hand here, like mid or bottom pair?

Hand 1: Meh. I haven't really played enough 1/2 to get a good idea of the average range you'll be up against after an UTG limp, but I doubt if it's a significant mistake if it is one at all. If you're playing I prefer a raise to try to play a HU pot with the limper for the dead money.

Hand 2: I probably just call. The flop is so dry and people tend to be way too passive so I think there's a good chance you'll just end up taking yourself to valuetown on the turn/river by 3-betting this flop. I wouldn't need much of a read to 3-bet though, and it'd probably be fairly easy to convince me that my prefered line of calling the raise and reevaluating the turn, but pretty much never folding at any point, isn't the best way to play the hand.

Hand 1: The raise preflop is correct, but this hand won't get interesting until the flop. The dead poster should be calling with about 35% his range (pairs, connectors, sooted gappers, A's and K's). Oh, and I'm not even close to concerned about the UTG limper, chances are he's an idiot with that 'line'

Hand 2: I hate this spot, you almost never get any more out of hands you beat here, and the rest of the flop is low, so you can expect kicker issues. The situation is read-dependent. Against a nit, I like to just call, then lead any overcard on the turn, folding to a raise OTT, but against a calling station or aggressive opponent, I like the reraise with the intention of neverfolding (but not firing back if theres any more aggression)

Well my net took a dump before I could post what I really wrote so I shortened cause I'm lazy.

Hand 1

It's a muck flat out.

1. A9 doesn't have enough of an edge against multiple people to play
2. Despite you having position it's a losing hand long term.
3. The raise does nothing and it basically just starting to build a pot with a weak hand. If you had say A9s I'd say you could get away with raising b/c it would start to build a pot with a potential drawing hand. With it being os you're looking at a pair draw and even if you hit do you know if it's good with the weak kicker and if it is good on the flop will it stay good till showdown.

That's my feeling on it.

Hand1: Fold preflop. A9o is one of those hands you usually end up losing more with the second best hand than you win with the best hand. Even with a little dead money in the pot I just let this go.

Hand2: I like calling the flop raise and probably check calling down depending on the turn/river. It's one of those crappy blind spots that you can't really get away from but there's no need to build a pot and if he draws for free and hits oh well. You can't be real confident in your hand here anyway.
