10 players is considered a full game and the pots are the highest.
And preflop odds are easiest to find for a 10 player table.

My statements are facts.
There are no 10 player tables here. It goes up to 9 players maximum and sometimes one or two players are missing.
Count the seats. I don't know about you but I see 9 seats where I'm at.
The pots are the highest on a 10 player table because if everybody calls an all-in bet the winner could win up to 9 times his money.
This is a theoretical maximum and almost never happens but it's pretty obvious that if you have more people at a table, you are more likely to have callers and raisers making the pot bigger.
As far as finding preflop odds, based on my observation from websurfing,
10 players is the most "talked about" or propagated information.
10 players is the most typical or most popular amount of players at a table on the OTHER online poker gaming sites. See for yourself if you want. |

I am aware of how many seats are at each table.
I dont want a table where 9, or 8 like possible here on FT, people call my all-in. Your hand strength shrinks incredibly, especially preflop. If you enjoy flips for your money, sometimes people on this very forum do it, you should check it out.
Odds shouldnt be affected by the number of players at the table. |

A game is considered full when all places are filled. Pots are the highest when more money is wagered.

If you're struggling with these, any good poker calculator should be able to adjust settings from 2 to 10 players.
They apparently don't want them. But, if you do, maybe you should suggest it in the Feedback and Features portion of the Forum. |

| 10 handed is boring. Pre-flop odds aren't really going to help you be much of a better player. Good players at a 10 handed game are playing tighter then they are at a 6max table so the amount of action is fairly balanced. did it occur to you that the 10max is so popular because it is offered more then the 9max not the other way around. Iknow there are sites that don't offer 9 max at all. So naturally their players never play it. |

your saying the odds of winning with Q/Q are the same with 10 players in the hand pre flop as they would be against only 3 pre flop ? I will take your word for it mathman1115.... but if I am wrong I would be really surprised. |

Your percentage to win a pot with a certain hand is affected by the number of players in the hand. Also for the people who want those odds here you go.

I prefer playing 9-seats (or even 8) because if you're at a table of 10 and you have a couple of fatties, it becomes squashed and smelly. 9 gives you just that little bit more elbow-room for when you start getting drunk and reckless with your chips.
Also, on odds being affected by the number of people at the table:
Odds are affected by the number of people in a hand.. And pot odds, which I think we were talking about - are affected by the money in the pot. If you can't adjust your play based on how many fat **** are sitting at the table (or even more importantly, in the hand)...bleh. |

My mistake, i read it at pot odds and not preflop odds.
Even so, i don't understand how it makes the odds "easier" so to speak. |

The number of players at the table is fairly irrelevant in this scenario, as you are always going to raise and thin the field. Sure your QQ is more likely to be beaten if everybody limps and checks round to the river at a full table than a shorthanded one, but how likely is that to happen?
Also, shorthanded games are a lot more aggressive, with higher variance, so you are more likely to be pushed off your QQ by a worse hand played well at a shorthanded game than you are at full ring.
Although regarding the OP, the only game I play 10-handed is LHE, and whenever someone sits out to make it 9-handed, there is barely any difference in ranges. For NLHE, the more players at the table, the more necessary it is to sit with a full buyin, and the more value to be obtained from small pairs and sooooooted connectors. |
