I think if they had a 'head' on their shoulders at all they would award the money. If they dont, they are going to get themselves $92,000 worth of bad advertising in my opinion.

Here's the reason why it's not a plant: The casino has nothing to gain by not paying the jackpot. You see, the jackpot is going to get paid eventually, right? That money WILL get paid to somebody. It doesn't belong to the casino. It's basically money that is on reserve.

For this reason and many other reasons, you will almost certainly get paid. I wouldn't be worried at all.

If for some reason you don't get paid, take it to a lawyer. In fact, I would have already lawyered up by now.

Arter - I personally don't think it is good that it is taking this long. I really felt good after we left the hearing, but now I'm not so confident. I'm hoping they met over the weekend and we hear something today about it.

I heard they sent a letter out yesterday. Check your mail tomorrow. I have no idea what they decided, hopefully in our favor. I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow. Not sure if I want to know before I get there. May put me on tilt if it's bad news. Overall, the hearing went so well, and the commission seemed like a decent group, it may still go our way. 24 hours and counting.

We were denied again. I don't know what our next steps are going to be.

Bummer

My only suggestion is to take up some of the offers for publicity and pursue others. If their bottom line is affected, it may be the only thing they will listen too.

i think the next step is find the guy that ruined it for you, and give him a physical "bad beat"

while screaming "go bad beat" , ofcourse.

gonefshng, glad you had a good ending to your ordeal. This has been appealed to a Tribal Judge, and next month he will go through all the evidence and decide. After that????, hopefully he will decide in our favor and we won't have to worry about it. The Tribal Gaming Commission did call the other day and say the Bad Beat and all the side mini-Bad Beats are still froze. Going on three months now.

It sounds as if they are final with their ruling of not paying, I am sorry for those involved. It is a commonly known poker rule to not talk of the bad beat, saying that there is 96,000 reasons to stay in the pot would be fine but to say "Go Bad Beat" is just plain stupid. It is odd though that after 3 months there is still consideration, I don't see how anybody is benefiting from this right now.

Quoted from another thread (which I will lock down to keep the discussion focused here):

rockinrobt1970 wrote:
Will the real Rockinrobt please stand up. It is very flattering that somebody wants to be me so bad that they are willing to respond for me and pretend to be me. Who ever you are it would be nice if you could grow a sack and speak for yourself. I was trying my best not to get involved in this disscussion but you leave me no choice. First of all there is no right or wrong answer, this is just a bad deal no matter what call or decision one comes up with so as a player and as staff try to keep an open mind in what I say. First I would like to say I really hold no hard feelings towards RRC, because without there stupidity of letting me go I would not have become the world famous dealer that I am. I do blame upper management for allowing a floor person to be in the box to begin with. It was one of the first things that I told them that you never want to let happen. I'm guessing that they wish they would have listened to me. I would like to say on the staffs behalf that they are some of the most professional you will find. I know this because I trained most of them. And for who ever has a question about the rules, feel free to ask me for I wrote them. I am not going to say what my ruling would have been, for I was not there. Every situation has different circumstaces. I will say 97% of the time in poker rooms around the world this bad beat would have got paid out. It would have got paid out because in most cases there would be a dealer in the box and they generally tend to here only what they want to here based on how big a tip they might receive. Does this make it right? absolutely not! and for that floorperson that is stuck being in the box when something like this happens I do not envy. As a floor person in the box you have no chioce other than to do what you think is best in fairness to the game and to the other players. It is your job to do the right thing, which is to protect the integrity of the game and to teach your dealers to do the same. How is this person expected to have any respect from anybody if they just let things slide based on popular opinion. How do you expect your dealers to do what is right if you dont. If you bend certain rules where does it end? Unfortunately so many players come from so many games such as home games, rinky dink tourneys, internet where there is no talk, other card room who let you do what ever. In most of these cases the real rules of the game are forgotten or altered. And then there are those who come to play in a controlled enviroment such as a casino. They choose to play there to protect themselves from cheats and corruption. Believe me when I say I have seen corruption at every level of the game. It is no good for poker and to see someone still willing to stand up for what is right and what they believe is right is a very rare quality in todays game of poker. So instead of condemning this person you should be honored to have such a person serving you and protecting the game that you play in. And for those of you that think this is something personal you dont know much about poker. Im not saying it was right or wrong but what I am saying is that she stood up for what she thought was right and that is called courage and integrity and that is the **** that leaders are made of. Maybe instead of throwing her under the bus you should be talking **** about the player that broke the golden rule of bad beats. The same rules that has been posted on the wall since the bad beat went into effect. As a player, sure I would be upset but I would not condem this person for doing there job the right way.

P.S. I would like to say to the person speaking for me I would never have A bad word to say about the former Governor of this fine state who just happened to grant me a pardon. And I would never talk **** about someone based on whether they tip or not. At least not in open forum anyway.(lol)

So this is the famous bad beat discussion board. Sounds more like a bad soap opera.

RT- I know you helped write the rules, so what is your interpretation of rule #8?
