They would be boss in a bar or something, but bad in a casino. I like the sound of real cards and chips.
edit - The full ring game tables might be cool. I'd miss the feel and sound of real cards and chips, but I could play more hands per hour, and the 60 seconds to act rule would speed the game along. Good for internet players looking to play live. |

| 9k to play heads up in your basement? Are you kidding me. I would spend the 9k on a new sportbike, and buy a deck of cards with those nekked ladies on 'um. |

A number of casinos are looking at them. Some of the tribes are looking at them to use for inter-tribal on-site US based poker alternative.
Personaly I think it is a mistake and would miss the chips and cards.
Even home games with mis-deals are preferable to this type of automation.......

| The 4 casinos near my town had them and they were taken out. Not much action playing on a machine. They lasted only about 1 month and they were gone. Besides, How do you tip a machine ? |

$9000 / $4 = 2250 heads up plays to break even + electricity to run it. thats a long time to pay off a game. |

It's a pub, though. They should factor in the money they make off of drinks. I would only ever play that game if I could get someone to play for $20 a game. Then it would be like paying rake. I think the pub frowns on people playing for money. Lame.
The game looks tight, though! |

| At the Seminole Hard Rock casino in Tampa, Fla, they use to have 2 of the PokerPro automated machines inside of the poker room and also one of the heads up machines. The 10 person machines never filled up and they were out of there within 6 months. The heads up machine lasted about 2 months. Complete waste of money if you have live action tables 5 feet away if you ask me. |
