| Does the guy with kings have any straight or flush draws to go with it? |

| Sorry, another question. The guy with kings, are his other cards over the 6? Seems irrelevant, but has to do with redraws. Then I can sit down and attempt to calculate it. Gonna be kinda tough, though. |

| All straight, and flush draws aside. The two pair is a small favorite. I think roughly 55%. If the K K has three to a flush or even K K Q J. The two pair is still a very slight favorite. about 52%. You could consider that about a coin flip. |

Hmm, thanks, guitarguy. I wasn't honestly looking forward to calculating that. |

You shouldn't be playing small pairs against a raising king without an ace in the hole. That situation shouldn't come up very often.
If the kings come on 4th and 5th you have to try and decide what he had to begin with. Know your player. |

DevilFish is right here. I see far too many players calling raises with small pairs, catching two pair and putting far too much value on them. Keep away from the small pairs unless you see 4th or 5th for cheap and can catch a set. |

When playing 2 small pair it's best to only make defensive bets/calls. I wouldn't try to make a big pot unless the hand improves.
In fact, I usually fold a small pair on 4th street if I don't make a set, especially with an unraised pot. I might call a single bet on 4th street if the bet was completed/raised. |

I completely agree with these guys, but I will be 100% honest, its not always so cut and dry. The King might make a set. Someone else stays in the hand, thinks I have a set, and the other guy has kings and catches a flush, it all depends on whats going on with who.
I am a little twisted, I will play 2 more streets, I will JAM the pot for those two streets, if the king doesn't improve he might fold, If your Door card is paired it will look like you made a set. By 5th street, I begin the checking/fold this "rag" process, if he bets I will fold, He will make a second pair before you make a set, so Consider throwing it away.
Sorry, but these guys are still right. |
