I really think it depends on how your table is playing. If they're all playing fast and loose you can definitely play this hand. If they're all tight and this is happening, a fold isn't the immediate option but I don't think you'd be a nit for it, either.
At these levels I've seen players play real, real bad, so I may have considered folding it. Then again, I'm big on folding when other people are firing bullets non stop at one another. I'll just pick a better spot. Preflop you may be ahead, but odds are someone's holding an ace and the other guy maybe a king. Even if you have the best starting hand you're going to have to fade 6 outs five times at the most basic level of looking at it. In this situation you were already a big underdog.
Hitting a straight flush just isn't going to happen often enough (practically ever) for this to be worth playing to the end. Good fold. You'll double up next time. |
