folding KK is still a bad fold.

1st of all, reading pocket rockets on someone is not that clear.

I just won't believe that folding pocket cowboys pre-flop is a good move unless there are multiple all-ins ahead of you, and even then it's not a bad decision to call.

Dude. You're killing me with the annoying hand nicknames. Laughing

you prolly had the best odds and made a mistake. I wouldnt say you made a real real bad one cause i 2 have folded kk in a tourny. If you have played and learned your opponent's weakneses and strengths its easier to set down those pairs. Ive seen my dad fold this few times and yes they did have AA.

I don't think it is ever a good play to fold pocket Kings pre-flop. Let me rephrase that. It is never a good play to fold pocket kings pre-flop.

Never, huh? Assume the guy sitting to your right drops his pocket Aces face up on the table and says, "I'm all-in." Shocked

If I were playing Mike Ditka and he raised me all-in preflop while I stared down at KK, my first instinct would be to call. But if I were interrupted by 4 cheerleaders behind him, who--when they see him peak back at his cards, start cheering, "Pocket Rockets, Pocket Rockets, GooooOOOO Rockets!"; I would fold them face-up 8)

Technically, he can't do that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he'd be forfeiting his hand if he did.

You are half-right, half-wrong, at least according to TDA rules. Correct, he can't do that, and he is subject to a penalty. However, his hand is live.

See Steve Brecher's post here (the fourth one from the top):

What is the penalty? Everybody folds and he gets blinds instead of callers?

Depends on the place. Cash games, for example, sometimes allow you to do this. And a penalty in a tourny is most likely to take the form of time spent sitting out while still posting blinds.

I recently had a similar situation but one step further. I had pocket kings and was raising back and fourth with one other player. The turn gave me my trips and the river pulled an ace. Sure enough, my opponent turned over pocket aces. Is is my imagination or does it seem like pocket pairs and completed monster hands are pitted against each other in the same deal an awful lot on line?
