| As an average human being I must say something. To the cell phone buff perhaps Iphone is not the highest end of sophistication etc etc, however in keeping with what Apple truly is it is made for the avergage joe, easy to use and simple. It works very well with other apple products (I own a Macbook pro) as does all apples products. The ilife is for those of us who dont need fancy computer programs but want simple user friendliness, something windows pretty much through out the window with vista. I love my iphone it does everything I need it to do and EASILY, thats what matters to me so please dont say 'every user is dissapointed', any user who purchased the iphone for what it is (simple, elegant, easy to use and integrate with your other apple items) is more than satisfied. |

Hey its a great phone, unless you want to take a video with the camera.
Hey its a great phone as long as you don't mind slow browsing on the old 2G network instead of the current 3G network.
Hey its a great phone, unless the battery dies.
Hey its a great phone, unless you want to install some apps and games.
Hey its a great phone, unless you have a stereo bluetooth headset.
Hey it has great apps , unless you want the most recent versions like the google maps beta with the my location feature instead of the pre loaded older google maps applicatioin.
Hey its got a link for you tube, and that saves all the time other phone users have to waste making a bookmark for you tube.
Hey its a great smartphone unless you want to actually edit a document instead of just looking at it.
Hey its a great smartphone unless you want to sync with a computer over the air.
It is easy to use because they left out a ton of features that were not left out in just about every competitive product. That makes the ease of use come at the expense of full functionality. This seems to be Apples credo though as most of their products come up lacking in functionality but hey they are pretty and simple. Who needs full functionality? Choices just confuse most people anyway. right?

Having some experience in this industry and having an iPhone myself, I can definitely say it's not impossible for FTP to create an iPhone client, and only have it work while connected via the 802.11g network (and not the slow cellular internet connection). In fact, with the iPhone's robust screen size and touchscreen keyboard, i'd say it's probably less hard that you might think.
That said, since Apple will never have an open source system for an iPhone "program" , and the given state of legal matters with online poker, there is no way at ALL that it will come to the light of day. Pure programming speculation, now and forever.

If I wanted my phone to walk my dog..lol
Thanks, but instead of spending an hour figuring out how to work a phone I would prefer to plug it in and have it do all the work for me. Laziness what a concept, and yes choices do confuse people, remember this isnt about words from the experts, its about the average person, no offense they tend to outnumber technology gurus.
*PS my iphone must be the most amazing ever because it is faster internet than any phone I have tried (sidekick 3 and others) maybe mine is a phenomenon, who knew!! |
