| Is it at all common for players to be GREAT at sng's and TERRIBLE at cash games? And is one game more indicative of his overall skill level than the other? |

| I believe it is quite common for people to do much better at SNG's than at cash tables, as well as vice-versa. I know I can make it to heads-up play in a Limit Hold-Em SNG with little trouble far more often than I can stick around at a cash Limit table for more than a few hands. For some reason, however, I tend to do much better at a cash No-Limit table than I do in a No-Limit SNG. Why this is I don't know, but I suspect it is not uncommon. |

yeah, i do a lot a lot better at sngs than cash games.
lately ive made some stupid choices at cash games. but during a sng, i really take the time to make sure im making a good choice. im a million times more patient during a sng, but i cant put my finger on exactly why this happens. |

I actually play a lot Tighter in cash games than in SnGs. I'll start out tight in SNGs and wait for about 1/2 the field to knock themselves out with donkey moves (I play the 5.50, 11.00 SNGs). After that you usually have pretty good players and you can set up and achieve pot steals, bluffs, etc.
In cash games I never bluff and I play only premium hands. These online ring games are very treacherous and the donkey-fish will gobble you up alive if your not careful. The good news is that when you do have the nuts, they will call you down and you can make you money by throwing cash into the pot. So many times I have watched my preflop raises go into the muck after the flop (ie, I fold) only to earn it all back (and more) with the nuts and 3-4 calling stations. |
