There is also a thread started by scotyno in the feedback and requests section of the forum on this topic. Reply there as well if you're interested in this tourney.

Great lobby effort by everyone.
Next we need RAZZ Token Tourneys. When we specialize in games that require a higher intellect (like razz) we are at a huge disadvantage trying to satellite in by playing no limit hold-em shove fests.
I have written support and posted as well on the Request and Suggestion Forum asking for Razz SNG Token Tourneys. I receive "we'll see what we can do's" but no commitment in response to my requests.
So c'mon Scotyno, yuvee,SGS.Ottawaboy PokerAA and all you well known players and let's continue improving the Razz on FT by adding your voice to this.
I think that the nightly $24 Tourney will double if a Token SNG were available in Razz. Double the players- double the prize pool.
Thanks to all in advance for considering this.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the game, but I think you're off base here. Saying that razz requires higher intellect than NLHE is just as ridiculous as saying that even retarded monkeys can play razz. The two games require slightly different skills, so a good player at one in not automatically a good player at the other, but making mistakes is much more expensive in NLHE and intelligent players who exploit those mistakes will be much more profitable.

As far as your STT idea, I think it's a good one but you're asking the wrong people for support. All the guys you listed lobbied for a higher buy-in tourney because they could buy in directly. So you really need to talk to the microstakers out there to build some support for razz satellites so they can take a shot at playing with the big boys once in a while Smile

Please take my comment as it was intended. A little tongue in cheek jab, meant in good fun.

The "little boys" could be considered the lifeblood of poker. The majority of poker dollars- excluding Skanlsky bucks- has a trickle up effect. I'm sure some of the big boys will be happy to help. After all, we were all young once.
By the way, I am relatively new to internet poker. I started playing on the web about a year ago after selling my business of 30 years. I was playing razz when it was called 7 stud lowball. As a long time cash game player I find the dynamics of internet play very interesting. In fact, often even amusing. I certainly don't mind being inferred to as a little boy/micro player. Currently that is excactly what I am. I would like to point out that some of us micro players can take a shot anytime we like.
So my appeal to all the Big Boys of razz still stands. I will rephrase it though. Please lend your support to Razz Token SNG's and help the dollars trickle up!

As an old school razz player, your mind must be boggled every time you sit down at a low limit table! It would be somewhat boggled even at high limits I can assure you Wink Good luck with your campaign, you certainly have my support.

Thanks for your support sgspecial. I have been reading these posts and replies for some time now and most of the top players such as yourself are very helpful in responding and sharing their razz knowledge. Kudos from us all.

Yes my mind is often in a blown state lol. Maybe you can help me with the biggest problem I'm trying to solve. Draw poker at its' basic level is about pushing when you have an advantage, slowing down on a draw and folding when you can't overcome the math. The only games I have found that are played this way are HU SNG's. Most games, at all stakes as you point out, you will see this ex: A2 32A4 3 vs. xx 78JJ x where you are shown J978A. The best part is you may even get raised! Now if this player stays seated long enough I don't mind his play as I will have ample time to show him how a victim really feels. Never mind an answer, I think that's the internet dynamic and I should try my luck at the higher stakes where this play is not quite so frequent. I will say that internet play has improved my cash game play. I like to ram and jam and exploit the smallest advantage and I REALLY have a improved my math at the smaller %'s EV.

Thanks again sgspecial. Hope to see you at the tables.

I'm very happy with the $75 buy-in Razz tournament.

If this gets proven a success, hopefully an eventuality will be higher buy-in weeklies for Razz?

I'm not going to be in this week, but I'm definitely there next week.

Why? This play is obviously bad, and we can win much more easily by playing against bad players. It's just that we don't beat them the same way we beat good players. Simply avoiding them in favor of better players may keep you in your comfort zone, but with the proper knowledge and training any player is beatable.

There's a new big buy-in razz tourney series getting underway as a private tourney -- with satellites for those who have the game for it but not the bankroll. Check out the details here:
