Can anything be done about players who discuss their cards while others have yet to act? I was in a 3 handed situation where the 1st player to act was all in and I had just gone all in and he starts talking about what he has, before the 3rd player has acted? He was lying about what he had, but I do feel that it affected player 3's action, thus causing him to fold. Please tell me something can be done about this. His overall attitude was that it doesn't matter and because he was lying it wouldn't have affected the outcome and he won anyway. I'll copy the hand history and chat if nec. Thank you

I also see a lot of people urging others to call. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you're all-in on a bluff, it is. People need to shut up during a hand. You wouldn't get away with it in a live tourney, so why do people do it online?

I'd love to see a weekly 'Tip From the Pros' email devoted just to poker etiquette. There are so many new players who don’t know all the rules.

In this situation Sue, he named a specific hand that he had, including cards on the board. I'd like to see him banned for a week. It wasn't over alot of money or anything, however, it's the principle of the matter and his response after the fact that deserves attention and I feel punishment.

Yeah that is pretty annoying. My favorite is when someone folds preflop then the flop comes 773 and they type damn I folded a 7. The idiots either don't realize that affects those still in play or they don't care. Either way something should be done about it.

I agree The person should be banned not a week but for 30 days. If this was a live table at a casino the dealer would have thrown the person off the table asap.

When in doubt, just send the hand history to support. It is against the rules (http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/siteRules.php) and some action will be taken.

My guess would be that the player would receive a warning, and then more serious action would be taken in the future, ranging from their chat being banned, to their entire account being banned.

I'd like to see this too.

Incidentally, there are some sites that disable chat in tournaments when a player is all-in, in an attempt to deal with this issue. Have Full Tilt considered it?

Opinions on whether a player should be able to talk about their own hand when they are down to heads-up in the hand?

This happened to me last night in a ring game, where an opponent commented, "I have the nuts." I called and it turned out that it was true, and I was badly beaten. I didn't really have a problem with the comment myself. The only problem I can see is that I pretty much had to call at that point, and may have looked a little foolish (to the rest of the table) calling somebody who correctly told me that they had the nuts. But I don't really mind looking foolish -- it may pay off later.

But I suspected that that type of chat was probably against the rules.

The rule varies widely from place to place. I usually allow it in the tournaments I run, but it is not allowed under TDA rules.

JB
You can say on table except these things ( I think )

I folded any two cards
I folded a full house

Seen it to many times and I will gladly start reporting hand histories if I was in the game or watching

Scotty did that to someone to win the main event He called his hand but he never said what cards he had

I just started playing at Poker Stars. It's an good site, certainly not as good as FullTilt, but they disable chat while someone is all-in. Awesome.

FullTilt should defenitely do the same.
