Setup: My opponent bet everytime he was showing a better hand, a few times i would reraise and he would fold, therefore i was positive on my read of him betting my board no matter what his down cards were.

Played it perfectly, IMHO.
In a cash game, bet 7th street, but here in a tourney, checking behind makes a lot of sense. (Losing an extra bet cripples you a whole lot more than it does him.) |

Only thing I'd add is if it were 50/100 level or lower, I'm betting this also. |

You couldn't have played this hand any better.
On 6th when you raised his bet, he had to assume you already completed your hand, or at least one worth playing. Based on what you were showing, he knew you couldn't have better than a 9 low.
Knowing that, I'm doubting he's folding on 7th with his own 9 low. It would have been too marginal to let it go.
From 3rd st. he had to know he was behind and was going to be drawing for the remainder of the hand. With your read, knowing what you knew, it was best for you to check it on 7th. Odds are more in favor of him only calling a hand he could beat, so good job on saving yourself the extra 200. |

What does everyone think about folding 4th? If you didn't have much of a read on the villain, would any of you decide to fold just because you're calling off like 17% there and if he four-to a 9 you're ~60/40?
When first reading the HH, I thought you should have maybe raised 7th, but I agree to a certain extent with checking behind. If he makes a 8-high there I think he might bet out, and if he has a 9-8-high he might call a bet there, so it might be +EV.
But all-in-all, I'd have to say you played it pretty well. |
