I've been thinking about this hand for a couple of hours now and the more I think about it, the more I doubt my play. Yes, I had aces, but really, that was it. Terrible low draw, rainbow, and no great chance of hitting a straight. If I would have just called, i definitly would have folded after flop as at least one of them most likely had A2, but I'm not sure if i could just call there with my hand. I have folded aces preflop before plenty of times, in fact I folded em earlier in this tournament, and I think it might have been the best thing to do in this situation. In fact, I used cardplayer.com's calculator and found out I was actually behind (barely); my chance to scoop the pot was only 37.93% compared to his 38.01% (wow, what a difference!!!)
As you can probably tell, I'm pretty confused as to how I should've played this hand. I would appreciate hearing how other people would have played it in this position. Thanks |

I'm in no way a PLO8 expert but I'll put in my two cents anyways. I believe problem here is that you overvalued your AA. There was a bet and a call in front of you so one would assume that at least one of your aces is already gone. Plus all you have is an A7 low here which will almost never be good. When I get AAxx I don't like to raise unless I have at least an A5 low or it's DS. But if theres no raises before me I'll usually open with them.
I'm probably wrong here, but if I was in your position I would have either called and played the flop accordingly or folded. I'm interested to see what other people would do in this situation. |

| that's about as close to a race as I've ever seen. Looking at the EV on twodimes, it shows that the A235 has 50.2% equity vs your 49.8%. So you basically just took a race. I'd much rather have the A235 btw. I'd just call preflop and evaluate, I hate getting it all in preflop in any Omaha, but I will do it if it's necessary. |

i think that when you posted this topic you already had reached for a conclusion: you wanted him to call and [/b]LET'S START YOUR ENGINES.....
that is why i quoted this reply; i pretty much agree with Big Slick here on this subject...
but in the other hand it could had been a winning hand and this race was a glorious one that could led you way ahead in the table to loose your play maybe and won the tournament ; who knows?
so basically i think you know that when you called the reraised you were racing strongly and took that risk.
see you on the tables
( not likely because i don't play your limits for sure)
