The software does suck. I used the free 5 dollars they give you. It was interesting and entertaining, but i don't see how it takes away the luck factor. It seems to just shift it somewhere else.
Lets say you make a correct lay down and the other person calls in the same spot, and hits the card you bolth would have needed.
In this case, your opponent on the other table gets lucky which means you get unlucky.
Am I on to something here? Is my theory of the luck, just being shifted, a sound one?
Another example would be, you getting someone tough at your table and your opponent getting someone easy at their table. Your opponent would be able to aquire chips easier than you, making you unlucky befor the first hand is even delt.
Of course, everything could be reversed and you could be the lucky one in these cases. This would even out the luck factor in the long run, but isn't that what is supposed to happen in regular poker anyway?
Does this new form of poker really eliminate the luck factor?
I think not.

Only to people who don't know that over time we all get dealt the same cards.

I'd have to agree with the fact that it is much too slow, and the skill/luck factors are shifted. But my biggest complaint occurs when you are playing the last hand. If you are not in a position to advance, and the other players at your table are in position to advance, it's impossible to get any action. On the other hand, if there's a donkfest going on during the last hand, you really don't get the opportunity to play a good starting hand effectively.
All of that said, I have managed to devolop a feel for things there, and have qualified for the South Africa Poker Open in February! If you are careful, there are a lot of players that are just itchin to give away their cash!! |

| duplicate poker is so stupid so slow and the people that play it always go all in on garbage that ands up bad beating decent to good draw hands. yes everyone eventually plays the same and it is supposed to prove something like u can win any hand if played right. only under real money conditions would any of those games be realistic. also graphics sucked. one of the worst poker sites all time. |

Duplicate Poker should be renamed Win a big pot and sit out poker. I was not Impressed with this place at all. For one thing you can't measure someones skill by how they play 8 or 9 hands. Expecially because If someone knows that the other person or people in their seat at the other table(s) is ahead of them they have no reason to fold a hand anymore. You have to try or die at that point. The concept had good intensions at first but you ultimately end up developing a new strategy for this site which is nothing like the way you really play poker.
