yes www.allvegaspoker.com is awesom, it gives you alot of good info on the actual poker rooms (seems lacking in this thread). I live here in vegas and if you want a good off the strip room try the red rock, and the casino is nice to.
As for strip rooms, I love the Mandalay Bay and Imperial Palace (while it isnt first class) is a great place with great people. If you have questions about a specific room check out that site or ask me |

Great thread!
Ive been to Vegas over 30 times. I used to be in the travel industry so it used to be almost free.
Ive stayed at Treasure Island (Now TI) over 10 times. If you do stay here request the Penthouse floor. They have regular rooms here but the ceilings are like 12 feet high. They call this a "Tower Deluxe Room" Keep in mind that this floor does allow smoking in all rooms though so you can smell the musk. TI serves great value. Stay away from the club/lounge in here. My friend is a VIP host in Vegas and hooks me up for free but for the money Tangerine is NOT worth it.
Poker here is probably similar to your home town casino. I had no problems at the 2/5 NL here but eventually got crocked enough that I lost $500 to a draw. Oh well live and learn.
As for the nicest place to stay hotel wise hands down it goes to THEHotel at Mandalay Bay with a close second to the Signature at MGM Grand. If you are a smoker you will hate the Signature. No smoking ANYWHERE on the site. Its quite far to the "regular" MGM but the rooms are amazing.
I hate staying at Bellagio and Venetian as they are creepy knock off tourist traps. The Bellagio poker room is the mecca of poker though.
Ceasars is massive these days, super nice and super busy.
I was impressed by Harrahs and Ballys recently as the upgrades look nice.
You can catch a drunk 1/2 NL session at Fitzgeralds which is right on the strip next to Harrahs I believe. Its quite funny.
Loosest game is at the Excalibur....1/3 NL funny enough but fun none the less! Weird game.
If you are into High Limit NL then Bellagio and Wynn are your best bet.
The Palms and Hard Rock attract the LA croud. Its a nice break from the strip. I love the Palms.
Vegas is not a "value" town so prepare in advance.
As for clubs:
Pure @ Ceasars
LIGHT @ Bellagio
Tryst @ Wynn
TAO @ MGM
Tabu @ MGM
Drais afterhours @ Barbary Coast (or whatever it is called now)
Risquee @ Paris I like but lots do not
Do not forget Cheetahs :p
Hope this helps a bit, ive been lots so PM me if any questions.
Dinner options are endless. NY9E @ the Palms is my fav! |

| One thing nobody mentioned that i'll add. The palms has an awesome 2-5 nl game and also the only room in town that you can smoke in. The rest of my time was mostly spent at Bellagio. I found the NL games of the same blind level little softer at the Palms however. The 8-16 game what short time I was in it playing limit was soft and passive. The 15-30 I played was about the same as the 30-60 my best friend was in. Very aggressive, but a good should be fine. The other friend I was with played 80-160 mostly in the upper level, but the game was very tight even though he won pretty good. The nl regular tourneys they have there get alot of action, but takes really good player or alot of luck to win. |

| Great! I'm getting ready to book 4 days @ the Luxor. What can you tell me about that $30 tourny? Why so bad? Anything else you can add about the Luxor? |
The $30 tournament has a crappy structure (but you could probably say that about most $30 tournaments in any casino).
Other things I can add:
Don't go see Carrot Top. Same goes for the "Fantasy" topless show. Save that money for something... anything else.
If you plan on getting in the night club LAX (which is pretty nice), plan on waiting at least 90 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights. |

| The Luxor was a great room until recently, the poker room lost its manager, it lost its good promotions. I used to go all the time, the last time I went I talked to a floor guy I know and he said just leave it sux now (there was 1 table running!) This was 2 weeks ago so they may have gotten better again but thats the last I know about them. |

| Has anyone stayed at the Flamingo or Bill's Gambling Hall (formerly Barbary Coast)? I think I may stay at one of these reasonably priced hotels if I go in the summer. They appear to be located in the perfect location. |

I usually goto Vegas at least annually. One of the best things there last year was the sea food buffet at the Sahara. So check it out next time you are in Vegas!

The Flamingo has a great pool area, but the casino isn't great. It's not dumpy like the Trop but not as nice as Bally's or Paris next door. If you want to stay for cheap mid strip with a good pool in the summer, the Flamingo is a good option. Most of the mid-strip Harrah's properties can be booked on the cheap from June through August (Caesar's excluded of course). |

Thanks, cjavdani. I might go with the Flamingo, or Bill's Gambling Hall nextdoor (formerly Barbary Coast). It's also a Harrah's property. It's smaller, and quieter than the other strip casinos, and the rooms are nice, for the price. Most importantly, the hotel is above the casino, right on the strip. Gotta try and save steps in Vegas.
I really want to do this Vegas trip right. Last summer was cool, but I wasn't there long enough, and I didn't get to see a lot of the casinos. I never even went south of Flamingo St. Mostly stuck to the center strip.
Doing a lot of research before I go this year. Gotta find the full pay VP machines (might have to venture downtown for those) and the 3-2 blackjack tables. Also, gotta remember to bring my own McDonald's nugget barbeque sauce. Your guys sauce sucks.
Btw, not sure if it's mentioned here already, but check out cheapovegas.com. Great site. |

It's the Planet Hollywood now, but I believe the Spice Market buffet is still there. Heard good things about it. The shuttle bus driver said it was the best buffet on the strip, and 2nd in all of Vegas. 1st being the Rio. |
