I am right before the cutoff in the 5 dollar pot limit Omaha Tournament. I am right before cutoff. Blinds of 200 400 my stack is 18,162. My cards are AcAh5h6h the guy before me min raises to 800 I raise to 3000 it folds to him he calls. Flop: 2h5c4h. he checks I bet half pot 3300. he raises 16,000 all in? I want feedback before I say what I did. I think most of you will tell me to call with the outs and over pair. top 27 place and there are 47 left. Thanks.

So its 11562 to call and the pot is 24762? 2.1 to 1 roughly. Against flopped straight with opponent having a hand like A3JJ w/out hearts you are over 40%. Against middle set (something like QQ44) you are also over 40%. In fact I'm having trouble thinking of something you are worse off against, worst I can find is 3h67h8h where you are about 27%. Call.

With a low board like that, it is much more likely that he has a QQ or KK. I doubt he is playing 63, but an A3 is a slight possibility. But getting 2 to 1 and having two of the aces yourself, I wouldnt be making any crazy laydowns. You can still call with your flush draw since you have decent odds. You should be ahead most of the time. And if you are beat, be happy that they are calling your raises with hands like 44 or A3. They will be bleeding chips in the long run making those calls.

Well I called and he had 67JQ unsuited and hit a nonheart 3 for a straight and I was gone. He then donked away the chip lead in a matter of minutes. It was frusterating. Pretty good payday too. If I would have won that pot, would have fianal tabled deep. Thanks for replies.GL

First off, no way I'm folding here. With the outs you have, you're in good shape (and that's not counting the fact that you could already be ahead). The one question for me becomes are you the type that would only raise w/AAxx ? The reason I ask is that he may be trying to buy the pot hoping that you missed. You don't say anything about him as a player, and that's much more important.

One other point, number of people shouldn't matter here. You should be playing for first place. Call if you feel you're +EV, fold if you think you're -EV
