*Suspenseful music, probably a synthesizer or something like that*
So there I was, sitting live at the 1/2 NL table. I've been playing mostly on the square, making positional raises and taking down the occassional pot with strong holdings.
*thunderclap*
And then... it happened. After ditching about 60 of my stack to this guy on, I have a stacksize of around 145 and I pick up black AA UTG. I raise to $9. Caller in the 5 seat. Button reraises to $16. I stand up puzzled and reraise to $36. Caller in the 5 seat again, cold calling my stern raises. Initial reraiser lays down to me and gives me a nod. Caller in seat 5 has half of his stack committed that this point and says before calling my reraise, I have to see a flop now.
FLOP:
Qd, Jh, 5d
I lead off with a $35 bet. Caller in seat 5 has 41 and he pushes the other 6 into the pot and I call. Caller in seat 5 has JT spades.
*The record player scratches the vinyl and all is silent. Duh fock is he schmokin??*
TURN:
9h
*The table ooohs. Caller in seat 5 looks over to me with a nodding smile and I flutter my eyes. I'm getting that sick feeling in my stomach as I turn my body to my coat for a cigarette*
River:
Kd
rob14136 shows AA (Pair of Aces), mucks
Retard shows JT spades (A straight, King to Nine), collects $167.00, runner runner style.
-----------------
*As I walk from the table and put my head in my hands in amazement, I think it's time for a break. Smoke one and come back to the table as a hand is over. Caller in seat 5 dumps EVERY PENNY he just won from me, to another gentlemen after a 3 low card board helps his pocket 10s, but better for his opponents, pockets Kings. I am disgusted again, as NOTHING IN POKER, gets me more angry than losing my money to some chump and watching him dump it to someone else within a 5 minute period. NOTHING.*
I look down at 88 UTG. This story is short. I limp, next player, I know he's strong, raises to 22. 10XBB + my limp. I know I'm wrecked. SM calls. I push all in for 55, he comes over the top to take me out and smacks me on the shoulder and shakes his head. He knows that I knew what he had. I turn up my 88 and say, get me outta here with your aces, this is a pure tilt move. AA holds, I go home. Blah. |
