At least at the Play Money tables, I have never seen more unskilled idiots who just go all-in on anything and pray. It's like playing slot machines - throw down your stack and spin the wheel. 3-4 guys with anything from pocket 5's to 7-2 offsuit almost every freakin hand. I don't know how many times I've seen pocket Aces or Kings busted by a guy going all-in with 5-3 offsuit and hitting two pairs. Talk about zero skill and all blind-luck. Maybe in the money tournaments skill at betting and bluffing really comes into the picture. But for trying to practice at play money tables - they're pretty much worthless.
I think Pot Limit is the best of the variants. You don't get the all-in idiots pre-flop, but you can manipulate pot odds after a round or two of betting to dissuade someone on a backdoor draw from going further (at least down to 2:1 odds). It's a very skilled compromise IMO.
And while in Limit Hold'Em, you can draw at a cheap price if you have a draw. At the money tables players generally fold if they don't have a draw rather than throw money away. If at least two players with good hands get into a bit of re-raising it can be pretty expensive to chase a gutshot. Bluffing is harder of course, since anyone with a decent draw is going to take it to the river. Not your cup of tea? Don't play then! |

theres always some dried turd that rolls out onto the forum walls. yeah lets go play so i can watch u chase cards LOL. what a tool. go play buttdarts with the other limit card chasers after the game |
So, habib, are you saying you never chase in NL or PL? What about when you play omaha, or hold'em? You never chase a flush or straight? |
I can verify that he'll call a pot sized turn bet w/a bare A2 and no high draw in PLO8. Chase confirmed for PLO8. |

Limit hold em players on this site are the most unskilled of all poker players (if u want to cal them that) ive ever seen anywhere.
Id rather call the game they play 'card catching'
see, they have no skill in the game, so they just bet, raise and call in hopes their opponent doesnt have whats on board, or that they will hit a card to make even a pair. they dont have the skill to think about the hands, odds, etc, they just sit and toss chips and pray.
complete donkeys and anyone that plays limit as their main game of 'poker' is an unskilled fish and i urinate on u |
I agree, I'm a donkey, next time you see me sitting please, please take my money. |

Example from Betfair last night..(apologies in advance, I don't save my HH's on Betfair.)
9-seat ring, .5/1, I am BB.
UTG raises to $2, 4 calls. I have odds of 11-1, and call with Qd4d.
Flop is Ad Kd 3s
UTG bets $1, 4 calls. I have odds of 17-1, and call with a nut flush draw.
Turn is 7c.
UTG bets $2, 2 calls and 2 folds. I have odds of 12-1, and call.
River is 9d. UTG bets, 1 call and 1 fold. I raise, UTG and mid-pos both call. I take down a $36 pot and am berated as a "fish" for the next 5 minutes. "Nice catch donk"..."well played moron"...."Q4 is the nuts"...etc.
So I agree...many limit players clearly have NO UNDERSTANDING of pot odds. |

| The only thing I've seen with LH on FTP is that if you keep raising EVERY hand with rags, you'll win/suck out. It never fails that you get three-bet against some tard with 10-4 off and they hit a gutshot on the river. |

| blah blah blah blah.....putrid spineless limit playing jellyfish with inane comebacks for the insipid and inane games they play. Cardchasing fish who, for the most part of them, just raise the cap with anything in hopes of hitting or making the others fold. no skill. only the non thinking automatons who cant handle the skill of NL sit and play 'cards' at limit tables. the limit tables should be called 'zones of idiocy, lay and pry, win a pot by a miracle of chance'. usually they are old dried turds who, since they cant take chances or use skill at the tables with any degree of success, live their lives the same way and own one car, one house, if that, as most are 'renters' who never knew the triumph of victory beyond what the cards send thier way. now lil circus animals, jump through my flaming hoops of humility , jump jump jump |

lol@ the FTP limit players being the most skilled.
From 2-4 all the way to 5/10, I have seen the most illogical, and ridiculous play on the net. Skill is not capping it with 2-4 off-suit and flopping trips. People play SO bad on here, yet FTP has no problem rewarding them? You know why? The more they raise, the higher the pot, the more rake they're making. So, why not play like a maniac? FTP will reward you. |

I'm convinced...It clearly is a greater skill to say "all in" with $25 into a $3 pot. Us LHE spineless jellyfish are so bad. |

So true. I once "fat fingered" the keys entering a bet and raised a $1 bet to $12. Managed to make my poor unskilled opponent lay down his hand with that slick move.
Never been able to reproduce that slick bit of "skill" in a limit game though. |

They just sit here and hope to hit the board, thats it. like playing bingo. they lay and pray. aside from a few solid players that rarely show up at a table. the rest,,even at the 50/100 level. are not even to be called poker players, they dont play 'poker'. they play, bet blind, raise blind, hope the other players have nothing, and then see if this computer rewards them. donkey extrodenaires. Id put a chimp at a table, and bet 500k it could beat the average random picked from any 30/60 table moron off this site. a monkey could beat them. easily. it would at least try to match its cards to something on the board. So you limit fish, I urinate all over your unskilled thoughts of being poker players. you aint sheet |

If you can make it to the real money tables, you're welcome at mine any time. Hell I'd probably even play you for fun if you want to ask an admin to set up a match. |
