Limit hold em players on this site are the most unskilled of all poker players (if u want to cal them that) ive ever seen anywhere.
Id rather call the game they play 'card catching'
see, they have no skill in the game, so they just bet, raise and call in hopes their opponent doesnt have whats on board, or that they will hit a card to make even a pair. they dont have the skill to think about the hands,odds, etc, they just sit and toss chips and pray.
complete donkeys and anyone that plays limit as their main game of 'poker' is an unskilled fish and i urinate on u |

While I agree that most people who play limit, especially limit HE have no idea how to adjust, there are some people who are quite good and can take advantage of these weaknesses. It is very frustrating though to have someone chase a 3-outer because of "pot odds", but you can win in the long run off of them. Plus, you say anyone that plays limit as their main game is unskilled, I think that's a bit harsh. What about the stud or razz players? What about those who play limit omaha? Or, what about horse? Limit takes a entirely different skill to play then no limit, and if you're going to play it, you need to be able to adjust between games. |

Actually, i think you have it backwards. Limit requires a wider range skill set then NL does. In NL you can bet players off of hands, eliminate post flop play by going all in, easily fold good 2nd best hands when the action gets heavy, etc. In limit, you have to be sharper to sniff these things out, all while keeping track of the odds.
I agree, many players who play limit are unskilled, that is why they stick to limit. But winning in the long run in limit requires more skill, because you have to make plays (check raises, free card raises, well timed semibluffs) to give yourself a better chance to win.
I mean, i don't really mean to say that limit takes more skill, it just takes a very different kind of skill. |

I'll tell you what buddy ....me and you can sit down heads up on a Limit table any day of the week. I play 5/10 and 10/20 as my main games and if you dont think i have any skill then bring it on brother.

Many people seem to forget, or never knew, that no limit has only become popular in the last few years with the TV generation.
Many players who have made a good portion of thier income for years with poker are strictly limit players. |

The LHE players on Full Tilt are the most skilled on the internet. I can beat 5/10 on stars and I made a small amount during a spell at UB, but here, I can't make anything for love nor money.
I hear the same story from guys who play the .25/.5 stakes and the 100/200 (yes, real money) stakes. |

So, habib, are you saying you never chase in NL or PL? What about when you play omaha, or hold'em? You never chase a flush or straight? |

Sounds like a frustrated player. So, how much money have you lost to all these Unskilled Players? Judging by your tone it must be alot.
And since poker is measured by RESULTS and not by how well you follow guidelines from a book, seems that it is YOU who is unskilled. I play limit and win regularly. |
