I'm playing Omaha H/L, and this is the table I sit at:
Full Tilt Poker Game #3256761317: Table Exposition - $0.05/$0.10 - $4 Cap No Limit Omaha H/L - 0:34:47 ET - 2007/08/15
Seat 1: erchagui ($1.75)
Seat 2: dee693 ($11.75)
Seat 3: GWHunter ($7.35)
Seat 4: I Could Gambo ($1,022.50)
Seat 5: ty4playin ($19)
Seat 6: HiandGL ($6.90)
Seat 7: cjavdani ($16.30)
Seat 8: TheRunningFree ($1,995.90)
Seat 9: Chipchow ($9.65)
These guys proceeded to bet the cap preflop every hand. Every pot for about 30 minutes was a 4 way preflop all in, which was great because I racked up FTPs pretty quickly and won a very nice pot with AA24 with a suited ace.
So the moral of the story is that if you want action, find a cap table with 30,000 big blinds between two stacks. |

Yep, I've found these kind of CAP tables before too. Just make sure are rolled well enough for some monster variance if you really want to be in a spot to profit from it. |

Since it's being capped preflop every time, I'm waiting for a premium hand. Preferably something with AA or AKs on the high end and an A2 for the low draw. AA2x is a capper, On the hand I mentioned, I ended up hitting the wheel with my A2.
The capfest is somewhat of an exception. These guys were here to just donk around. A quick OPR search showed that one of them had a sizeable cash in the FTOPS for more than 1k.
Normally, what I've found is that most players in the micros are very loose passive playing Omaha H/L since hands can draw so many different ways. When this happens I wait for a hand I can bet big with or I play position. Usually on the button I'll get 6 or 7 to 1 odds to call, which I'll play just about anything with. |

| lol I was a little surprised to see this. I wish I could say that I had built that stack up at the table, but you're right- I was just there to donk around a little and kill twenty minutes before I head out. |

Actually if you don't mind some big variance, you don't need to wait for premium hands, just above average hands. I haven't had this happen to me in an O8 game but i have seen it a few times at holdem, and i would call with stuff like QJ, A6, etc...
Also it's a HUUUGE advantage to be seated directly to the right of the maniac. This way you get to see how many other people call before you do. If you see an empty seat pop up that is closer to his right than you are, move into it ASAP before it fills. Unfortunately when people notice a maniac at a table, the waitlist tends to get big pretty quick, so this isn't usually possible. |
