| Only advice I can offer is basically (almost) never draw to a straight or flush with a paired board. The only time I recommend it is when you have backup redraws to the nut low. |

Also, I would've almost certainly checked behind on the flop to take a free card and maybe hit the straight on the turn. It's not a good idea to semi-bluff the draw here because you could already be drawing pretty close to dead. Why not just take the free card and keep the pot low?
It ended up costing you 800 chips to see the turn when you could've seen it for nothing.
Also +1 what Zophar said. When I first read this thread after it was posted I was going to say don't chase straights/flushes on paired boards. |
